I've hear estimates in that range.

And to quote 4running daily's link
"Over the years we have done 100's of 3.4 conversions for customers from all over the country and Canada. If you have a 88-95 3.0 V6 prices start at $4500 parts and labor including engine for manual transmissions, and $5000 for automatics."

"and labor" That is about half the cost right there...

Haha I've already primed it, I may just color match it to my bumper and flares. Nothing too flashy but noticable if you take a close look

True, but either way I can promise you I can't afford the engine and all the things I need to do it

If you were dedicated you'd sell the Pontiac and get the 3.4 swap done with a donor car. Part out the stuff you don't need and have money left over.

You're crazy if you think I'm selling my Firebird to upgrade the 4runner. I love that thing. Way better ways to accomplish a 3.4 swap

Isn't one of the requirements of joining the navy that you're not on drugs? Lol

Not everything. They have so much in common. Similar body, same transmissions and differentials, etc etc.
Except for the 3.4 the second gens built better. Also tailgate>hatch :luvya:
