    Its looking like ICON's for me but shit I do like that it appears KINGs are easier to rebuild. While I can't do it now I know it's something I could learn to do and would like to learn to do. I took what JBerry said and tried to find the directions or even a rebuild kit on the ICON website and I couldn't but I have been leaning towards them. What did you go with if you don't mind revealing???

    I always use DSMS. People don't realize, you might be able to find them a little cheaper, and if you want off the shelf shit, thats great, but if you want a shock expert who can valve your shocks perfectly for your truck, then DSMS is the way to go

    Fwiw, I have Icon 2.5 CO's and live in the dry as a fart Arizona desert. We don't get rust here. It just doesn't happen. I recently noticed my Icon coils have some rust spots. It's weird for me to find rust on my truck so it's kind of concerning.
    I have no complaints about the way they ride, but I would imagine if I lived in a different environment they wouldn't hold up very well to the elements.

    As long as it stays on the coils and not the actual shock I'm not too concerned with it, but these are only a few months old. Maybe mine didn't get coated correctly?

    Looks like the PC rubs itself away right in that spot. I do coat all surfaces of my coilovers with a light coat of Corrosion X once in a while, especially the threads on the body.

    As far as I know, none of the big shock manufactures make their own springs. So if it's just on the coil its probably not icons fault. I'm not sure who they use but it's most likely eibach or betts.

    So are the factory Bilstein shocks for my 05 TRD Sport 4x4 progressive or digressively tuned?
    Since Toyota continues to pair the tacomas with the bilstein's would it make sense to go with the same tuned shocks?...idk I'm still educating myself and researching the hell out of this stuff ... So much technology and choices!

    First of all "tuned" is a word I would not apply to bilsteins... But they are targeting for progressive because that's the only thing that makes sense for any type of off-road vehicle.
