Sounds like my old boss. We finally got rid of that sumbitch. He's still in the area. Just hope I don't run across him. Or at least I hope I don't run across him and he thinks he needs to come up and act like we're long lost friends. He'll figure out real quick we aren't though, but he should already know. I'm not the keep your head down and quiet kind of guy. If I think you're a dipshit, you'll know it and I made it pretty clear what I thought of him on a regular basis.

Checked it a few minutes ago and it seems dry. Just got done plugging the hole... actually just covering it up. Can't find my caulking gun  :annoyed: Also used some great stuff to fill the hole by the spigot and the "extra" holes in the header. not happy with the great stuff can... it's a one use deal  :annoyed: can't get the installation tube cleaned out and can't get the stem off the can. Only used a very small portion of it, and now the rest is useless.

    How's Mike this evening?

I think I call that expando foam. Squirt and it expands. After its dry you can use a blade to trim.
Yea one shot and it's done. I made a list of things I wanted to do and after I got like 4 or 5 I bought it and did them all.
Doing good thank you. I'm stable and feel 10 years younger. Way more energy. Wicked Spring fever. Fishing fever. Bike fever. I feel different.....

Monsoon season is here. Started raining @ 2PM yesterday. Just 1/2" so far, but the heavy stuff is just now getting here. Rode over to the family farm yesterday. Climbed up in the silo to look around. It's been a few years since I was up there! 90' off the ground provides quite a view! Had a red tail hawk buzz me while I was up there! That was cool! The climb up wasn't as bad as the climb down.....

    Have a good'n!

I grew up on a farm. We quit plowing in the early '80's in favor of no-till. Our ground was like wet cement until it dried out then it was like DRY cement. Lots of clay. It's been no tilled since (we still own it, just lease it to someone else who farms it) The soil structure is so much better now. More organic matter, deeper top soil profile, better drainage, and MUCH higher yields. (A lot of credit there goes to better hybrids) I spent a LOT of time on a tractor pulling a plow back in my teens. Those were good days!

Yes. The good old days. Driving a tractor and a full-size pickup truck when you're 12 years old. How else can you get that?

My grandfather had a small farm in Washington state. Our family was in San Diego because my dad was stationed there in the later half of his naval career. My dad sent me to work on my grandpa's farm every summer. The memories of working (and playing, of course) on that farm are some of the best memories in my life.

I truly believe that the farm life/work experience helped shape me to become what I am today. Thanks Gramps and thanks Dad.

A local excavating contractor I know who's been VERY successful will NOT hire an employee unless he/she grew up on a farm. His success is based on the excellent worth ethic of his employees.
