If you can hear it, and it sounds like it may be the rear differential, you should get that checked. Some people had low diff fluids or other diff problems.

This vibration is purely rpm and engine load related, and doesn't really have much for sound.

Just got my final answer from Toyota about the vibration my 2016 tacoma has had since new at 1800-2300 rpm. They say their techs can find nothing wrong but are giving me an 8 year/125,00 mile extended warranty. I am trying to sell the truck.

Did you deal directly with Toyota as well, or just through the dealer? I don't think it is a final answer if they didn't open a tech case.

Can someone post a video that shows the buzzing and vibration? Is is something that could be seen/heard on a phone video?

A video will do this no justice. The gentleman who posted the vibration analysis using the app on his cell phone was on the right track. Words cannot describe this vibrations attack on your sense of driving normalcy. I can tell you that driving around the block with a mechanic that says yep they all do that does not do it justice. Living with it day in and day out and being literally slapped in the face with it is infuriating. We all know what a vehicle is supposed to feel like. Trust me this isn't it! I drive multiple vehicles every week. I have owned dozens upon dozens of vehicles none of them have given me this sense of just being off putting. Plain and simple it's like a slow torture. Always there. Poking it's finger in your face. Mocking you. Be very careful if you are considering this truck. Toyota and Toyota dealers will do absolutely nothing for you. Toyota if you have any passion at all for making vehicles then stop telling people it's normal. Send your best tech out and take my truck for a few weeks. Live with it day in and out. And then come and tell me it's designed that way. And I'll shut up and sell it and I will never let anyone I know walk through a Toyota dealers doors.

If you want to experience the buzzing --duck tape a palm sander to your foot for an hour and you will know how I feel when I get to work. No joke.

I really didn't notice it today on my drive home, and the only thing different about the truck was the grease I put in the u-joints last night. Granted, my situation doesn't appear to be as extreme or even the same as some on here (no palm sander feeling...yikes). I am going to give it more time because my mind may be playing tricks on me, and I also see what the service folks may have for an answer on Friday.

Or, in my case, your hands.....was driving around town today, it's been getting warmer here, and the vibes were quite annoying....how I miss my FJC!

I called my friend, the Fleet Manager at the dealership where I got the truck and told him he has until the '17's come out to find something for me that I can actually drive anywhere I want to go. I will certainly look at the '17 Canyon Denali and the '17 Ridgeline as alternatives if they can't get this fixed...or refuse to fix it.

No no you have it all wrong, the chainsaws are for the hands. :)

I feel for you man. I need to make a few 1000 mile trips soon, and am dreading it, which makes me realize I'm probably going to have to sell in order to have something I can actually drive. Unfortunately I love my manual and there just isn't anything else out there with it!

I'm seriously considering going TO an FJC at this point, even though they're incredibly expensive.

Yes - the hands as well. The vibrations travel up my right leg and down my hands. This is winter here so, I have a heavy padded work boot and a pair of John Deere leather gloves to help dampen the vibrations. I sat in a GMC Canyon over the weekend with power seats no less. I am going to drive one this weekend. I'll keep you posted. Dreadful and shameful response from Toyota I called Toyota Corporate Experience Center yesterday and the lady said. Wow, you have owned many Toyotas'. My reply....this will be the last one.

I know this is a real problem, hope Toyota does something about it. I am thinking about (don't yet own one) a 2016 Tacoma so, I called the Toyota hotline (3-4-2016) and questioned them about the vibrations. They said they had no available information about this problem. They also said that if there was ever a problem, they would resolve it, so don't worry. Gave me a caller confirmation number and everything.

My feeling after the call was that Toyota won't do anything about this problem until it becomes a problem for THEM. So, I google searched "2016 Tacoma owner reviews" and only found a handful of complaints from you guys about these vibrations. 856 post on this forum alone, yet only a handful of negative reviews on the websites where most people go to research vehicles.

I think Toyota will do something, it's a nasty problem. But, only when it starts to hurt sales. Go more public with this.

Your truck does have a serious problem if it's really that bad. Any honest dealership should be good to you and fix it. I'm thankful that my new Tacoma does not have this issue. Perhaps it's time for a new dealership if they don't want to take care of/fix/replace your "lemon" truck.

Jeff- My dealer was great to me. They gave me a smooth loaner to drive. I drove it. Put 700 miles on it and it too developed the same problem.

Another Tacoma? No. I don't want one. They told me they all will develop this problem. They are waiting for Toyota engineering to give them direction.

If more and more develop this problem, Toyota will have to do something.

I disagree with this. Actually you do see the participation of auto manufacturers from time to time in forums where a certain problem has developed with a model. They will say things like the company is working on the issue and use various other pacification language. But they are there and frankly I find it it a good PR move. So why is Toyota silent?
