What Chainsaw do you run?

I'm running a Stihl 290 w/20" bar. Use it for firewood and property maintenance. Had it for 5 years now runs like a champ. No mods just keep it sharp and clean.

 

My personal saw is a Stihl MS270 with an 18" bar. It big enough for the felling I do in Colorado, and still small enough to climb with. At work I usually run a 200T with a 16" bar, MS361 with a 20" to 28" bar, or the MS660 with a 36" to 48" bar depending on what I'm felling.

 

Stihl, got 3 or 4 laying around with different size bars for different uses.
Forgot about one underneath my storage trailer and had high water one night, saw sat in water for a few hours, next day it fired right up.
All I had to do was run it with the tip of the bar and chain in a drum of oil to make sure everything was oiled.

 

Im looking at buying a Stihl 261CM or Husky 550XP. Have not made my mind up yet.

 

Stihl O21 that is close to 20 years old and has never needed anything other than gas, oil, air filter, on 2nd spark plug and of course chains. I use it to cut up a couple cords of wood each year but sometimes it will go 2 years without being used, it has never has a problem starting up even with old gas.

5 years old. Not a single issue.

 

funny thing is i went in expecting to buy a cs680 or a 600 for around $600-700
my 590 i paid $380.00 out the door for saw and 28" extra bar and chains. for the money it is one awesome saw.
the shop owner told me if i didn't like it after cutting with the 28" bar just bring it back and he would refund or trade it in.
i have to say it runs the 28 fine. i am pleased with it.

Husqvarna 440e...works great for firewood, tree limbs, generally light stuff.

 

I have a husqvarna 350. The chain will not stay tight. I tighten it up but the bigger the piece I cut the faster it comes loose. All of the forums I have looked at online just tell you how to tighten it which I know how to do. I need to know why it won't stay tight. It is the correct chain with the correct bar. Thanks

 

Your tensioner might be shot. I had to replace the tensioner in my 359. The part cost $6.

Are you running the chain that came with it?

You just have to find the right part for your saw, take it apart, put the new one in, reassemble.

 

Have had a Husqvarna 545 for a couple years now. Beautiful saw.

 

just bought a stihl...Ive burned through 3 cheapo's and now Im going with something decent hopefully...It starts easy which I like Im going to take it out its maiden run this week when weather clears up.
