I have a 2000 Reg cab Tacoma and the cup holders are square. Is there a piece missing to these cup holders? Last time I checked, drinks aren't square. If this is the way they're suppose to be, can someone tell me why? Drinks tend to fit best if they have a huggie/koozie on them, but that doesn't work with fast food cups or coffee mugs.

    Thanks fellas!

Sorry no pics right now, my truck is in the shop at the moment. I got the truck used about 5 years back, but never really have found an answer to the cup holder ordeal. I hope there is a rubber part missing, I'd love to have it!

The closest thing to a cup holder I can find in my truck is the dumbass little fold out chingas that has two round holes in it behind the passenger seat, everytime I've put a cup/can in those mis-configured square things in the console I end up spilling it....

Since the 95.5-97s all had front bench seats (I think), I have the pullout cup holders above the radio/temp controls. And, since I have a 99 interior from the last owner (swapped from his buddy's recalled taco), I have the square ones as well. Best combo...

My truck is a 97. The seats in it are out of a 4 Runner, so the rear inner seat track bolt does not line up. however there are 4 factory bolts on each side of the floor... I am not sure if it had buckets from factory, but it would make sense that it did, Unless the bench seat bolts down with 8 bolts (4 on each side).

As for the cup holders. I was looking for a center console in the junkyard. found 2 with the square holders... I didn't see the point of getting one of them, so I looked until I found one that had the round cup holders. I got it. :D

Nice nice. You win. But I do believe that the bench seats bolt into the 4 areas on each side because my truck did come with a bench seat and it now has bucket seats. There are also correct mounts for the center console, but idk if those were taken out of the 99 as well or came on the truck in the first place. When I bought my truck though, I did find a seat belt under the passenger seat for the middle, thus proving it had a bench.

Does your 97 have the pull out cup holders though?

Yeah, that is my understanding. I mean, I didn't buy it with the bench. But that's what I think is the case.

Sweet, they designed a cup just for your tacomas!
That's better than Acura can do. My mom has an MDX and a few years ago they gave her a thermos when she took it in for service. The damn thing doesn't fit into their own cup holders. I thought it was pretty funny.
