The 'I'm running out of room to bolt things on' build

You cant go wrong with dcpower. At idle my new alternator pushes 180 amps. Thats engine idle not alternator rpm. A lot of 'high outpu' alternators dont even make the advertised output until youre at redline when you dont need it. Thats what sets dc apart. They produce at really low engine rpm's. Most of the measurements i found it actually puts out more than they advertise. Bear in mind when looking that most companies advertise 'xxx amps at 2100' rpm, you need to make sure theyre talking engine rpm and not alternator rpm. Most alternators have a 3 to 1 ratio so when they say 2100 they may mean 6300 engine rpm. Not useful.

 

Picked up all the wire, split loom, and heat shrink I'll need. 200 bucks for everything. Man that Arctic flex is expensive! They were out of red for my positive signal so I was forced to go with orange Also got a few feet for my new alternator. Going by the amperage the size I needed was 1/0, thats a big chunk of copper. 2000 strands I want to say?

 

Are you using welding wire?
And what is Arctic flex?

 

Really well insulated wire for Alaska, highly pliable because of it's massive strand count. The best. No downside to it.

I'd have maybe fogured this out on my own, MAYBE, but having Jeremiah help do the wiring means I get amazing results every time. Such a clean install. Couldn't be happier with the lights either! I'll get output shots as I aim these
