Not sure where you are seeing that info. Pretty sure the ball fastener plate is the correct mounting bracket.

Too much to list, but enough to get me in trouble. Repeatedly.
First time I've seen that. Guess I missed it. I thought I paid for something different.

That will work, but it won't get you much run time with the battery. I forget the stats on the fridge, don't have time to look them up right now. If I recall correctly it draws 50w or 4.16 amps when running. It obviously does not run all the time and cycles on and off.

It is a good thing to keep in mind that you should only deplete a battery to 50% of its charge level before you should be recharging it to prevent damage to the battery. So even though the battery is rated at 35Ah (amp-hours) realistically you only want to use half of those before you should be recharging. Meaning you only have around 17.5 Ah to work with. If I'm correct in what the fridge draws that would only give you around 4 hours of constant run time before your battery would need to be recharged.

I'd run two or even three of those batteries in parallel or simply upgrade to a larger battery. Another option would to get a cheap solar panel/regulator and hook it up to your battery to help offset the load and facilitate recharging.

I'm seeing they say not to let it get splashed or rained on. I have a single cab right now so I was gonna put it in the bed. I guess not unless I get a soft topper or anyone have any other ideas?

    Some power consumption readings.

Truck temp was 95 inside, sun was shining on the fridge. I turned the fridge off to make sure it needed to turn on and cool that sucker down when I was going to measure. I put it on eco mode and when it came on, it was in the 1.1amp range. In max mode it was in the 1.8amp range. Tested it a few times and it was in that same range each time, truck was turned off during any readings.

Thats prettty good. So ive got realistically 20 hours of continuous run time assuming my Solar Panel/controller fail. that's plenty

So my fridge just threw the E1 code and im unsure what it means. The battery is full(~3/4) so im not sure what it could be.

ChamYota, I posted a link of the box I made a few pages back. I put a deep cycle battery in the one that I made and still had room for a small inverter. If you use something like this go with the largest battery that will fit.

Whats the voltage at that level?

I am pretty sure my low power cutoff on the fridge does not work. Its been in the 11.8v range a decent number of times per the cheapie gauge and multimeter at the battery, fridge set on hi cutoff and its still cranking away.

I ended up going with the Newport Vessels battery box, but with a Group 31 Optima yellowtop. The box actually doesnt fit a group 31, even though it had previously mentioned it did. It only fits width and length wise, but the ceiling of the box is too low for the height. I spoke to the company and they reimbursed my money but let me keep the box. I had to remove the inner ceiling and have the 12v plug actually hang out the box so the group 31 works. It works great now! Its a bit uglier, but works.

I tried it for 3 days and it threw the E1 sign after 3 days of use on it. It was on the high cut off. I switched it to the low cut off after a full recharge and it stayed on from Wed-Sunday (friday-sunday was spent at the Desert, Chuckwalla raceway). I am pretty happy with my purchase. I am thinking of getting a cheap solar panel set up thats set up in the truck to be used for week long trips.. or just having a wire thats connected to the alternator that i can just swap onto the yellowtop while we are moving.

Thanks for the amp readings. Not sure why I had the number 50w stuck in my head.

I got bored and wanted to see how long it would take this thing to keep my truck from starting.

5.5 days until the fridge showed "E1" or whatever and wouldn't run anymore. Last night the battery showed 11.6V. Truck starts without a problem still. That's 5.5 days without touching the truck at all, I will take that and may even switch it to the medium cut off.

Nice! That's actually pretty impressive. What battery do you have in your truck?

Just noticed the fridge was on the medium cutoff which makes sense for the 11.6V reading I got.
