I've been scanning through multiple threads on fog lights, and I have not found what I'm looking for. Sorry if I missed it.

Anyway, if I buy a set of factory-ish fog lights, do I have to connect the wiring that taps into the headlights? I want to be able to have them on when I want.

I know I can buy a cheaper set of lights and just wire up the switch and relay, but the better light sets all have this in the instructions.

    I am not pre-wired. Boo

Make your own relay. And put in a switch. That way you can do what you want. Should be info in the mid section

I wanted to use the included harness and just skip the wires that make them work with the headlights.

The easiest way would be to just wire them in with a switch in the cab. You don't really even need the relay depending on how much the lights draw. If they are LED you should be fine but I would have an inline fuse.

I used this kit (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CQ8JSCK?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00) on my 2013 2.7l AC. I didn't have any of the prewiring done, so I used the included harness. All I did was tap into ignition for signal, this way I could run them without the headlights on, but they shut off when the key is off. Super simple installation, and if you go with HIDs (I did 3000k yellow) you can actually discard half the wiring that comes with the HID kit.

On the second gens they do come apart, you won't need to buy new bezels! That's correct!

You don't need new bezels. The fog light block offs unscrew.

Yeah it's back up. Amazon says those don't fit a '15. I'm sure that's wrong though.

You guys sure do know your stuff. I just purchased the bed lights based on recommendations in here.

How long have you had the Amazon fogs in your truck? Are they holding up?

I got mine for Christmas, installed them that day. I swapped the bulbs for 3000k HIDs, but that was purely cosmetic. 68bb0931ca684f53a2be30b9c28eff4d_3b3e353b8b641f7e61064cf65d1f9f468af3e86d.jpg

I bought and installed my oem fog lights and I hate them. My driver side light got full of water right after install. If I could go back I would have gone with rigid or something similar.
