So main difference between the OME and Toytec coils is that the OME coils are a bit more stiff. The few trucks that I've done are primarily going to be driven on the road, thus the owners wanted something that would be comfortable for daily driving. Thats not to say that the OME springs are horrible, but they are noticeably more stiff than the 5100/Toytec combo. It really is a preference thing and what your plans are with the truck. OME is great is you plan on adding weight such as new bumpers or armor, but if you are primarily using the truck as a daily driver, then the toytec set up is hard to beat for the money. Great on and offroad manners and pretty affordable. Regarding the UCA's I personally am running the Icon tubular UCA's and have done so on my last two trucks with great success. They have been an outstanding product and worth every penny spent. That said, I've also installed the same UCA's on two other members trucks. From what I've seen, other great options are Total Chaos and Light Racing as a little more budget friendly option.

In my opinion, the 5100'2 set at 0 with the toytec coils, a single deaver AAL and LR UCA's will be a great set up for you. It'll give you a great ride on the road, but also the clearance and durability you need when out in the bush. Pretty solid combo that wont totally break the bank. Every 5100/toytec kit I have installed has led to some VERY happy members..

Hope this helps but feel free to PM me with any other questions.

As someone who purchased almost everything exactly as this states, I will second it. I didnt opt in for the UCA's, but the ride is noticeably smoother than the OME setup i had on my 13. Even my boss who has ridden in both maybe twice, got in the 16 and mentioned how much smoother a ride it was

I was under the impression that Eibach made the coils for ToyTec?

What is the spring rate for the ToyTec coils?

You are correct. Though I couldn't tell you the exact spring rate, I can so that all the trucks I've done running this set up ride extremely great, and clear 285/70's easily.

    Gotcha.

I'd be curious to know, since you said OME coils are stiffer.

OEM spring rates are 530 lbs, IIRC. OME is 590 lbs. Eibach is 620 lbs.

Eibach has been largely said to be stiffer coils and that's obvious by the difference in published spring rates. I wouldn't imagine ToyTec coils (made by Eibach?) are softer than the 590 lbs OME coils, so not quite sure your statement of OME being stiffer is accurate, particularly since you don't know what the coil rate is of the ToyTec coils you say are softer.

I can only go by what I feel when I test drive the trucks after install, and I've done about 6 3rd gens now, but what the hell do I know. There are two different OME springs that people use, 885's and 887's of which the 887's are what I've installed and am referring two. Both of which are different spring rates btw. But again, without knowing or really caring to know the actual spring rates, all I can go off of is my actual experience with driving the trucks.

    Please put your butthurt aside.

You made several comments that are factually untrue and wrong and I corrected you.

    That's it.

It's called "not lying to people." It has nothing to do with you or me, it has to do with what is true and what is accurate information. If you're going to make a thread and act like you know what you're talking about - and you don't - then you should be corrected and willing to be so. It benefits everybody who reads it and is looking for legitimate information.

ha ha, dude, I really dont care.

I have stated over and over that I do not know, nor care to know the spring rates and that all I am going off of are my actual driving experiences, thats it.. You can take it for what it's worth, I really don't care.

I have not once lied in any thread, rather just helped where and when I can. Period. Your numbers mean jack shit to me, especially when I have personally installed and driven all of these set ups and can say without doubt that the toytec springs do in fact provide a softer ride(all on third gens). So unless you've done the same, then I have nothing further to argue with you.

They do to an extent, but I believe some people have been seeing excessive sagging with some of the older springs. See updated post. :)

Yeah that took all of 30 seconds of keyboard usage, whew. Exhausted.

Worth the effort to help others steer clear of your nonsense, in case you decide to edit your posts to remove that "I don't know what I'm talking about" thing..
