Yeah i'm sure the maintenance schedule is ridiculous for the 450R. Probably says to change the piston and rings every 10 hours and change the oil after every startup

But honestly with the wide ratio and power of the 450 it'll carry you through those gears with ease. I've only ridden 5 speeds my whole life but no matter what i always "check" for 6th once its topped out lol. #trailgearingproblems

Hang on, how did you monkeys manage to get the old thread shut down?!
Damn it, there were some nice bike pics in there, too...

Anyone have any recommendations for chain and sprockets for my bike?

Need 120 link chain, 14 tooth front, 44 tooth rear

Aluminum or steel? Would aluminum wear faster/break easier?

This would certainly explain why I hadn't gotten any alerts for the thread the last couple of days...

Been 60 degrees here yesterday and today, supposed to be in the 50's all weekend. I want a huge rainstorm to wipe the sand off the roads so I can get the Ninja out.

With how fast you put miles on it wouldn't be worth it for you to run aluminum.

    Thats what i'm afraid of.

Also, haven't decided if i want to keep the 14 tooth front or go back to a 15....

I like the extra grunt, but i won't need it after carb/cams

Go back to a 15 when you get the carb. 14 becomes finicky at that point. Also when i looped it, ha.

I'd just keep the 14T until you do the carb/cam work. Then just get a 15T later. Front sprockets aren't very expensive anyways.

I had like $12 in the 14 tooth. But i'd like to have a new one....one that doesn't have 5k on it. Along with a rear sprocket and chain that don't have 7200 on them

Hopefully he was on his way to cash a million dollar check or get laid. That was totally not worth losing the bike

What a momo. Dumbass is lucky he didn't end up with his bike, at the bottom of the river.

Edit- Lol, GoPro should have changed their logo to "DON'T be a hero" for that one.
