I am looking for a system but am not sold on either. I heard that if I just went with Bilstein Shocks id have to stick with my stock springs...is that true? Im not a crazy off roader but i enjoy going out and hitting the trails. I want the 2" lift so that the back and front are level. I was quoted pricing

    Bilstien Shocks (with install): $1,000
OME full kit (with install): $2,000

Do I really need the Full OME Kit or can I mix and match? is so do you guys have any recommendations?

$1k installed for $330 worth of 5100s is ridiculously high, even if it includes alignment.

It's an hour job for a shop.

You can mix and match. I did this with my 4runner, mixed and matched. When i lifted my DCSB I went with the full OME kit with nitro charger shocks. this was $1150 from Wheelers with the Dakar included. it rides great. better than my 4runner did. Im not saying it rides better because I went with all OME parts but that was the route I took this time around. I also added the TC UCA but that was personal preference.

I agree with @DCSBFTMFW. Those prices are steep.

In your position, I would look for someone who likes doing this as a hobby and buy the parts and I'm sure they'll do that job for $300 tops. It shouldn't take more than 4hours to do this job all around.

Add a ~$100 alignment at the dealer and you'll save yourself ~$200

I'd install it for you for a pack of beer. You can do 5100s and ome springs. I'd go with 885s if you aren't doing a bumper or anything heavy upfront. I think you do 884s if you are an access cab.

I had a buddy with a shop who did the entire suspension plus extended brake lines and UCAs for 300 OTD

If you want a full setup, get 5100s, 885s, add a leaf in the back (or a new leaf pack).

However. After running the AAL and the amount of off-roading I've been doing, I have a set of dakars, and King 12" smoothies waiting to get installed in the rear.

You could wait until the BP-51's come out in a few months. I saw a pair at the 4-wheel parts show here in Hawaii last week and they look sweet. They have amazing reviews on other vehicles. Wish I waited and not got the Icons.

So, can you do this setup without the UCA's and extended brake lines?
