I recently put in a set of Slimcubbys HID lights, and the low beams are glorious, but the high beams shine so high that it doesn't hit the road in front of me at all... (Excellent light when going up and down hills though :D) Either way, I went out and tried to adjust them, and turning the adjustment knobs seem to do nothing, low or high beam, even with a gratuitous amount of turning. Any suggestions?

Also, is there any way to leave my low beam where it sits and just bring the high down...? Possible?

Are you turning the correct adjusters?

    Check halfway down.

You need to be like a good 30 feet back to see the difference while you adjust them. The one closest to the fenders adjust up and down. The one accessible from the top adjusts left and right.

I don't agree with the 30' back thing. I've needed to adjust mine a few times for various reasons and I back it up about 10' from my garage door, which has horizontal and vertical lines in it. Note that small corrections at 10' have bigger affects when on the road.

I have also run into the case where the lights don't seem to move much. I use my variable speed drill along with a flexible connector and a phillips bit. Adjusting them by power at slow speed works well. When they aren't adjusting any more, try turning the other adjuster a few turns one way or the other, then go back to the first one. This has worked for me.

I haven't had the lights apart on the adjuster level to understand how they work, but, on mine anyway, after so much turning they seem to stop or bind up.

And what's really weird is that my dad has a new tundra and we were trying to adjust his as well, and the adjustment knobs are the same. Some serious turning and there was no change...

When you are further back, you can see the adjustment much better. Instead of basing the adjustment off of something so minimal. If you wanted to see how many rotations your tire makes within 5', which would be easier? Looking at the hub cap or your tread?

Also, over adjusting can potentially "pop" the adjusters off of the threads of the adjustment screws. Trust me, I've been there.

Whoops, sorry about that, I didn't mean (no matter what I said...) that 30' isn't optimal, it's just that 30' may not be feasible. 30' back for me puts me in my neighbors yard, and they really hate it when I do that.

As for the adjusters "popping" off, any more details? not sure if I actually have done this or not. The OP may be in that boat to.
