Just to clarify, this screen shot is my clue, not from "They Live" (which I remember being a pretty lame movie, except for the famous "bubble gum" quote).

I'm fairly certain that's a scene from "Hombre"; I've got it on DVD.

One of my favorite lines is the Richard Boone character near the finale- "Mister, you've got alot of hard bark on you walkin' down here like this. Now, I owe you. You put two holes in me."

You are correct. Pretty good movie, though I wish Newman's character hadn't been so stiff. Seemed like he spent half the movie staring blankly into space.

    Hints:

Like "Hombre" this was a 1967 release. One of the stars in "Hombre", Margaret Blye, is also in this film.

It is considered by some to be a comic remake of "The Good the Bad and the Ugly".

The protagonist rides to the sheriff's ranch, steals his horse and forces himself on the sheriff's daughter. The sheriff returns to the ranch and infuriates his daughter by being more upset over losing his horse than about the protagonist's treatment of her.

Added to the must watch list. Can't remember if I've ever seen it. I feel like I have, but clearly I don't remember it well enough for the name to come to mind.

Probably time to call this one. It's from Kentucky Fried Movie.
