Truck feels SO much better. Gears were done and in by 11:30, hooked up the air lines, installed the ARB manifold and it was done by 1:30.

Shoot I wish. My mileage went up a little on the way home which is a good sign but I have to take it super easy for 500 miles, can't drive for longer than 20-25 minutes without letting the diff cool for a half hour.. and nothing more than flat highways only :frusty:

So I couldn't find any info for my question so I am relying on you guys to help me out.
Question: What components do I need and how do I add A/C power to my 1st Gen so it's like the 2nd Gen Tacomas?

I'd do some research into 12v to ac inverters. I'd suggest lookingat the 1500/2000 watt range. If you want help speccing one out or installing one, look me up.

Anyone have any experience wiring a canopy third break light and dome light? I want to do it myself but I'am nervous about messing with the trucks electrical system.

Tap into your tail lights for the brake light, can't remember where for the dome.. I think it was $25 to have the guy wire mine up when I got it.

I bet it does. When I went from 4.10 to 4.56 on my 1st gen it was the best upgrade I ever did.

And also the cheapest. After selling my factory diffs on craigslist I spent $125 on the upgrade, including fluids.

That's crazy how fast they were able to get everything swapped out. Having a lift probably makes a HUGE difference but laying on my back by myself in gravel it took me about 3 hours to swap a rear diff, and I hear the fronts are much worse.

I'll be interested to see how you gas mileage does in the long run.

Yeah they tag teamed it rear took an hour and the front was about 2-2.5.
At 55mph I'm at 2000 rpm now, so about the same as @TacoSTIG whos on 35's with 4.56 gears. But the mileage did go up on the way home but we'll see, have to reset it when I fill up. The truck goes up hills effortlessly now

    Copied from my build:
Holy shit what a difference the gears make!! Truck goes up hills effortlessly now. I have to go easy on the truck for 500 miles but it'll be so worth it.
Just have to switch the locker switches, I want it to be compressor, rear locker, then front.

Had to purchase the ARB manifold for the lockers

And I also upgraded the rear line to ARB's heavy duty line because knowing my luck a branch or rock will cut it, decided just to be safe. Goes from the fitting on the diff and is about 4ft long, connects to the regular blue air line then into the cab.
