    I'm thinking you've not had any troubles with yours yet is because it hasn't been disturbed. But I will admit, I do not follow you exploits too closely so I know very little about what you've had to do to your truck.

    Have you regeared yet? Have you had to replace bearing or seals yet?

    You should let me clean the locker motor, cause if I remember correctly you greased the commutator bars, which is a no no.

    Haven't touched bearings or seals, nor do I see how that would effect the e-locker actuator. Will be regearing here very shortly, but again, not seeing how changing the 3rd effects the function of that electric motor. If it were in that bad of shape that unbolting it and reattaching it causes issues, it surely would have failed by now just driving on it and using it.

    Edit: truck has 259K on it, and I use the locker dozens and dozens of times a year. It has not lived an easy life.

    Maybe you've been listening to too much of Ben's pessimism. :notsure: :p

    Regardless, you're more than welcome to tell me 'I told you so' when I have e-locker issues shortly after I mess with it, but I still don't think that will happen. I'm guessing a lot of it has to do with climate: my truck has lived in the dry Colorado air it's whole life, no rust to be found.

    Some of it might be related to how much road gunk gets in there. I don't live in ID or MT but I have been there enough in road salt time to be infected. So :notsure: , I never had any issues until I regeared.

    I was not being sarcastic nor trying to play the devils advocate. I've just seen too many instances to ignore the possibility.

    Never found Washington very hard on vehicles. No rust probs for me and my trucks been here for all 21 years of its life. Mostly just the East coast where it snows that sucks for vehicles.

    Nah he is saying that all because his axle has given him major bearing issues ever since it got regeared. And Cody, our friend at Low Range, said that for whatever reason the elocker axles never play nice after being messed with....no idea if that is true..

    I do know that setting your rear diff gears will be super easy compared to mine! haha

    I've never heard of that issue relating to regearing e-lockers, and I still doesn't see how that effects the e-locker motor. I guess we'll see, won't we.

    Ben's talking shit about the actuator because it failed and then failed again after 'fixing' it. Mike has had repetitive issues with axle seals and bearings. I'm going to continue with my optimism and say neither of these are issues that every truck is going to face when laying a finger on the rear axle.

    Nor am I ignoring the possibility, but it is still only that: a possibility. I like to look on the bright side and not assume I'll have the same issues as others with seemingly isolated problems.

    Why's that? And I'm not setting them up myself. Leaving that job to someone with lots of experience with these diffs.

    That and the elocker sensor never showing the diff is fully locked even though it is. All of it worked correctly prior to being disturbed.
