Thats still a bitch to do lol. To each their own, but I've known plenty of guys that tried this and after a couple months it turned into 'I'll wash it next wash, I don't have time right now" until suddenly they look under there when they think about using the spare and its got dry rot and/or caked in shit. Not saying anyone here is going to do that, but I've seen it enough to know its usually what happens, and knowing myself, I chose to keep it in the bed so its a constant reminder to keep it fresh

I'll keep under the bed for the meantime, but I totally agree with what you're saying. I'm just trying to lay low on modding the truck for the time being. Spent Wayyy to much this past month lol. For the mean time I'll search some options to mount in the bed, as to where I can stall maximize my SB.

Yea that's the downside, DCSB means a full size spare basically takes up over half the bed lol. Plus side for me is the camper shell, prevents to much shit getting on the spare and don't have to worry about idiots deciding they want it.

Definitely not for everyone. But I do wash and wax my truck regularly, after every trip to Tahoe I pressure wash the under carriage to remove any salt. The truck wasn't cheap and these wheels and tires aren't either. Just take care of it, thats all I'm saying

Will 285/70/17 fit if you only have 5100's set at 1.75 on stock suspension?

1.75 would be cutting it close. I'd say 2" minimum w/ minor trimming. Also depends how much flexing you plan to do.
