I picked up (2) Rexing V1 for my truck and wife's car. I wanted something small and it had decent reviews on Amazon and around the web. Haven't gotten around to installing yet.

This looks pretty tempting. Only issue I have, is because it doesn't have a battery, how would you show a police officer the recording say in the event of an accident. Can you review the video with it plugged in to the vehicle? Would help a ton on the spot to prove your innocence rather than potentially being wrongfully ticketed. But I am pretty much set on buying this one. Because of the heat issue here in az. Seems like this would be the better option regardless for that reason alone. I have been putting off buying one for quite a while because I know it'll just get fried in my black truck along with potentially 200* temps sitting in the sun. Ha. Suppose I could detach it every day after driving.. Thatd suck too though.

They have another one exactly the same with a battery. I would have to read the manual to check the playback, never had to. I'm in Texas, so AZ don't mean nuthin to me =). The only odd thing about it is that if you don't drive it much, it loses the date ( My Mustang the Garage Queen). My other one with the battery keeps the date in the Taco. Go figure.

I've done my research and this one is by far the best for the price. Make sure you buy it from Amazon, says "Fulfilled by Amazon" and the seller is SpyTec. There are a lot of counterfeit G1W-xxx out there.

Just ordered this 2ch model with wifi. A friend had the same model and loves it. I'll post video clips when I have time to install it.

Cheese and rice!! Thays way too much for a dash cam. Imo. It's only gonna be used briefly to show you're not at fault if the need ever arrises.

I've heard too many stories about the more affordable models overheating and working intermittently. I was thinking buy once cry once ;) If you consider I got the 64gb memory card, wifi, and the fact it records front and rear I think it's reasonable. Also came with the hard wire kit for power. Out the door was $360 with a promo code.

Yeah I suppose yiure right in that regard. I just couldn't bring myself to spend that much. I'm gonna try the cheaper one. Ordering soon. That capacaitor model one for 50 something. See how that does this summer here in az in my black truck. Ha. If it fries, then I'll consider something of more quality built.

Good luck and I hope it lasts. If it can handle an AZ summer it should good-to-go!

Also considering this one. They have different models and watched a lot of vids. Seems like another good affordable type. Trying to find reviews of any of these that are in hot weather climates. Would like a rear view camera too, but idk, seems kinda mute considering almost all rear end accidents are the rear drivers fault. That's what I got wrongfully ticketed for, but fought and won in my case. Fucker did an unsafe uturn in front of me. Cop didn't even investigate. Instant ticket.

So I have had the cheap g1w one in the company car for about a year. It's always on, 8g card recording in wav I think. The video is ok but choppy. It looks like it jumps back every once in a wile. So long story I went cheap cuz work didn't pay for it .
After seeing the value I bought a garman for the truck. Same setting but bigger card. 1000 times better video quality. I got the one with out gps and I run both of them without sound. No reason to record my instructions to the other drivers.
I recommend the garmin. Pic quality and easy to save with front button. Shock sensor works.

Yeah someone on the forum recommend that one. Still wanting one with dual lens. Sifting through all the Amazon reviews for one.

And anyone considering the mini 080x, As theres different models, keep in mind there are lots of clones out there that are garbage. As well as other dash cams too that have clones. Reviews on Amazon will reflect this depending which seller you go through. Some have nothing but negatives, while others have all postives. Also, I have read that the mini 0806 have a cheaper mounting bracket that melts and sags in the heat. Not sure if that's from the originals or the clones. I assume it's just a design flaw. Haven't read that on the 0805 though.
