What is the best way to boost the new '17 TRD Pro Tacoma 3-4"? Basically I just want to be able to put BFG Mud Terrain tires on it? Should I put 32" or 33"

Will lift kits made for the '15s work on this suspension?

    Thanks for the help.

I do not want to alter the suspension but want to put 33" tires on it. Should I just go with a body lift?

    You aren't making sense.

    You can fit 33s stock.

I see. Not sure about that. Many 3rd gen guys run 265/70/17 without lift. 33" might not be too off. Good luck.

Just put them on and trim a little if you don't want to alter the suspension. Any sort of lift is going to change angles of stuff and likely change the suspension one way or the other. Why would put a body lift on a pro? Do it right the first time. Just my 2cents

Thanks for weighing in so far. I do not know much about suspensions/lifts so this is why I am asking.

I know you can fit 33" on it stock, but I wanted to bring the truck up 3".

Why not put a body lift on a TRD Pro?

Why would you buy a trd pro only to lift it and gut the suspension?

Drive the truck first and see how it goes before changing anything.... Maybe you'll like it just the way it is

I'm getting a TRD Pro for the features it has. I don't want to throw away the original suspension. I was just asking IF THERE IS A WAY TO LIFT THE TRUCK 3" WITHOUT SCRAPPING THE ORIGINAL SUSPENSION. As I stated, I know next to nothing about lifts/suspensions so for the smartasses asking why I would even buy it and face palming and what not, you're not understanding my original inquiry.

Most of the members here generally tend to be firmly against block body-lifts because they lack strength for off-roading. So the short answer (with nobody suggesting you body-lift you VERY offroad oriented truck), is that no, you can't lift it without scrapping the stock suspension. I.e. get a TRD OR because it's essentially the same if you are going to scrap suspension.

You should get some 1.5" spacers and the icon 1.5" aal to put on top of the Fox

    Intake, exhaust, lift. Typical stuff.
You CAN raise it and keep the suspension but I don't know if you can do it the right way (ie, no spacers).

The front should be the easiest. I can't get a good shot of the Fox CO's but so far they don't look threaded so no adjustment. You can swap out the springs possibly, or get some plates to increase the preload on the TRD spring.

The rears will be a different story as we don't know the length of the shocks. They might be ok with the lift or they might be too short. To lift the rear you can get a shackle flip kit and/or replace the rear leaf springs with a 3" set. After that you will have to flex out the rear suspension and measure to make sure the TRD shocks are long enough to accommodate. If not, either get some limit straps or new shocks and I don't recommend limiting flex to 6-8"

Since you're wanting to keep the oem suspension, spacers and blocks like some have stated.

Don't do spacers unless you adjust your bumps to accommodate the new geometry.

    But don't do spacers.

If you are 2wd (idk if the Pro comes in a pre runner edition, or only 4wd) get lift spindles for the front. Lifts 4" and keeps stock suspension and ride. If 4wd get lift coils or just new coilovers.
Get a 2" add-a-leaf for the rear and maybe a shackle depending if you want bro-lean or a more factory rake.
May or may not need new shocks.
    285 or 33x12.5 tires.

Those smartasses, probably have a better understanding of these trucks than you, your original post states you want to get bigger tires on the truck, and what lifts to put on it to "boost" it, the pro is already another 1'' higher than stock, so it has about a 2'' lift on it, you should already be able to fit 32's and likely 33's depending on width, backspacing etc, the point us smartasses were making if you want to throw big tires and wheels on it and willing to change the purposely designed fox suspension to do so you might as well buy an sr5, sport or ORD, you clearly don't understand the purpose/idea of the pro.

Sincerely appreciate the people who were willing to provide an earnest explanation instead of being self-righteous dbags like a couple of the guys in this thread.

    Thanks again.
