You might consider spending $300 on RideRite bags instead of $400+ on Dakars.

You can keep the pack you have now and use the bags to adjust rear ride height defending on the load.

If not your style, I'm super happy with my Dakars. I got 2.5" or so with the shell weight (220 lbs). It rides great unless the road is super bumpy. Freeways are heavenly.

    Sounds like:
    5100 front w .25 top plate spacer
    885x coils
    5100 rear
    Dakar Leaf Pack/w ubolts.

Looks like that's where i'm headed. I'm guessing I'll end up with a bit of rake but that's OK - I don't dislike the raked look. Do you think the Dakar's will settle bit under the shell and did you leave the overload leaf in?

The bump in cost would be the difference between the AAL and Dakar which isn't too painful on my wallet..........

I'm running a full Dakar pack. Nothing removed or added.

You'll probably have a stance like mine, which is a little rake!

That said you'll need a different rear shock, I'm pretty sure. Marie @HeadStrong Off-Road can confirm or deny. Pretty sure they're not long enough to work with the Dakars though I could be mistaken.

Measured my current rake and it was little more than I thought - right at 1.25 inches. Gonna go with the AAL option for now and see how it rides. Can always upgrade tot he full leaf pack later. Trigger pulled! Thanks Marie!

    Looking for some input please.

I currently have 5100's set at zero with Eibach coils for approx 1.5inches. Currently I have nothing in the back.
Im going to be getting an RTT which I'm hoping will be under 175lb with the bed bars. My camping gear is pretty light so I dont think Ill ever have more than 400Lb total in the box when loaded. In the winter I will be just have my cover on. I dont do any serious wheeling and most of my time is spent on the highway or on gravel roads.

My thought is to go with a 1.5inch AAL in the back with some new shocks.

Any suggestions on which AAL and shock to look at?
Im trying to decide between 5100, Toytec Boss, Fox 2.0 and Icon for the back shocks.

Guess I'll jump into the HS PM pool...I see a lot of questions, but never the answers, beside 'PM sent'...:)

2013 TRD OR AC 4x4. Would like to level the truck at a minimum, but would not mind under 2" of lift front & rear. Thinking 5100s all around, but what do 883/884s do for the front of an AC? And which AAL is best paired with 883/884 front coils, for a smooth ride without being too harsh in the rear? I have no aftermarket armor, bumpers or shell, don't intend to ever have any, and rarely have much weight in the bed. I just want a better suspension than stock, a little lift, and a decent ride.

I usually prefer PM just because each truck and each amount of lift can vary on selection so that way it is less confusing.

Plus PM's are so much more personal!

Pretty much looking for the same 2.5 inch lift setup. 5100s all around with toytec/eibach coils PN:521600. So I would leave the front shock at 0 because the coils cover my 2.5 lift? Does the rear 5100 provide any lift, and if not what leaf pack should I get and will i need new u bolts for install? Thanks for any info.

    Marie,

I have a '16 DCSB OR and I plan to do some offroading (probably not crazy rock crawling, though) in addition to adding aftermarket front and rear bumpers later on down the line.

Would I be okay with the following set up:
    OME 886 up front
5100s in the front and rear
    HeadStrong AAL in the rear

Like others have stated, I'm looking to upgrade factory ride quality and hopefully avoiding buying new UCAs.

Would I need anything else to go along with those? Will it make a noticeable difference to run the 886s without any extra weight up front?

    Patiently awaiting the PM. :D

Also - any chance I could get a friendly neighbor discount if I came to pick up locally since I work right on the other side of the 10? :)

    Hey,

I heard your the bomb at this so...

I'm looking at around 2.5 inches of lift, I have a rev-tech spacer lift now and am tired of it, just rolled 100k on the original shocks and springs and am looking at the 5100's and 885's. I have airbags in the back and have an add a leaf. can I do the front with out the 5100's in the back for a few months? I'm looking at splitting up the purchase for ease of letting the wife know the full cost.

    Waiting for PM.
