I feel bad for all you guys with sagging or inverted springs. My rear springs look nearly perfect, and don't seem to be showing any signs of fatigue. That said, I bottom out on even small bumps in the road, and the bed sags with pretty light loads. Just glad it doesn't sag all the time!

I have the add a leaf TSB done on my truck, so i was suprised I received a letter from toyota telling my to watch out for my leafs. Been keeping an eye on them and so far they look fine. If toyota wants to replace them they can as long as I get the same amount of leafs in return.

The bill to Toyota was $1300. My copy was 0. But they put in all new hardware and bottom plates. Then maybe you just buy helper springs? My truck is an '07 ac 4x4 sport.

Does anyone know on the new remedy, do they just replace the spring as a unit? Or do they have to assemble them with centering pins and attach the ubolts etc? I still have some friends that work at a dealership, wondering if I can talk them into installing my AAL while they are doing the springs for the campaign.

    Thanks.

New leaf packs, unbolted at the front and rear hanger (or shackle) and installed. No need to disassemble and reassemble a leaf pack when replacing them takes far less time and effort.

Mine are getting worse every day it seems. Last week I picked up 12 packs of stones and 4 bags of mulch for landscaping around the house. Each bag of stone weighed 50lbs (600lbs total), the mulch probably weighed about 20 lbs each (80lbs) so thats a grand total of maybe 700lbs. My springs were on the bump stops and my nose was pointing at the sky. It was actually a little embarrassing when the guy loaded it, 700lbs shouldn't make a TRUCK meant for carrying heavy things sag like a 1990's ford tempo.

I keep hearing 2 thoughts, either toyota will give us recall people brand new springs or that toyota is just going to apply an extra clamp on 1 side to make sure if it does break it won't puncture the gas tank. maybe I'm overly optimistic but I'm leaning toward option 1. If toyota was just going to apply a clamp why would it take them over a year to start fixing the issue. Having said that, wtf is taking so long? I got the recall notice in Nov. of 2014!!!

Just read this, what state are you in? When did you say you got that? Good to know they are finally sending out the resolution letters, still waiting for mine...

After reading this I went back online to the Toyotaowners.com site and sure enough it now says "remedy...replace". Called my dealer and have an appt. for next saturday to get the rear springs replaced!! Only took a year but I'm not complaining, I know they still won't be up to the quality of an aftermarket, heavy duty set but still a hell of a lot better than my worn out old 3 leaf springs. I'm assuming these new ones are the 4 leaf spring sets?

Finally made into the schedule of the local dealer in Kingston MA, dropping it off for new springs tomorrow (3/8).

Had my springs inspected about a week ago. I was told that about 99% of all fail and qualify for new springs. Got mine installed today and the difference in ride is noticeable. The rear sits higher. Had the three and the replacement
for me was the four. I am happy with the outcome.

BTW Hello to all. My first post. Great forum!!!.

This is a recall, not a tsb.

I need to inquire about this with the local service department. My springs broke 3 years ago and I installed aftermarket 3 leaf replacements which suck just as bad as the originals did. The parts guys told me they wouldn't replace them because they were non-factory springs. I called Toyota and they said they would consider reimbursement if I mailed them an invoice. Which of course I can't find. Emailed the company I bought the springs from last week. No answer.

I just did the same and they emailed back with instructions on where to send my invoice and proof of ownership. I'm hoping they will reimburse my Dakars I bought online and installed myself. It seemed like they were looking for a dealership invoice for parts and labor though...

Well I called to get my leaf springs checked out and they said they are still in preliminary stages of the recall and don't have a fix yet. Not sure how you guys are all getting your stuff fixed
