How can I verify this without slamming on the breaks at speed? When I start up the truck and the gage cluster lights up I don't see an ABS light appear.

Look under the hood and see if you have an ABS system. They are pretty easy to spot. Looks something like this [IMG]

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
Check your fuse panel under the hood. There'll be an ABS relay under there if it has it and it's very clearly printed on there.

I don't trust the fuses. I have a prerunner but the 4wd Fuse slot has a 20A fuse in it.

There's nothing wrong with not having ABS...

My "2002" doesn't have abs. Its possible that you have abs rear axle, just not the system.

Just look at your spindle. If it has a wire running down and plugged into the spindle by the wheel hub it's abs.

Looks like from the pics Hossmaster put up that ABS causes the engine bay to collect dirt. I vote for non-ABS. That's one clean engine bay!

You probably have rear abs. My 99 prerunner has rear abs only. This, in my opinion, is worse than no abs. If I slam on the brakes my front wheels will lock up, disabling all steering, while the rear wheels will continue to roll.
