Page 596 of owners manual says dealer can change. Carista app does it also if you have an OBD wifi or Bluetooth adapter image.jpg

To be fair it's not the iPhone thats sh***y, unfortunately it's entune. My HTC One M8 wont work at all for SMS. MAP is a standard protocol thats been built into bt for years (since 2011). I don't understand why Toyota can't get it right.

My Android phone has worked flawlessly. Everything connected right up with no problems from the get-go.

I got the Carista one. It's $40 the app is free but you have to pay a one time $20 in-app purchase to make some changes. I know some folks on here. Maybe in the "what have you done today" thread have used a Wifi that runs $17.99 on Amazon. I have OCD so I get everything to match and got the Carista one. Worth it for me. Links up fast and you can change a lot of things. Turn signals, defrost auto, most bells and chimes. Seatbelts etc. and you don't have to mess with a cranky service tech. You can change stuff as often as you want.

Yeah, and my wifes Samsung Galaxy S6 works fine as well. Both phones work flawlessly with Ford Sync in her Escape. For some reason the EnTune implementation of MAP is just poorly executed.

Yes you can definitely change it. It's in settings. I just turned mine up the other day. I like to be able to hear it from a distance or in the house.

Try going onto your iPhone. Go to "Settings" and then "Bluetooth." Find the Tacoma connection and click on the "i" button to the right which is the info button. Then make sure "Show Notifications" is on. That did the trick for my iPhone and it worked on my truck. Good luck.

I don't know if this has been talked about but I just got a Samsung Galaxy 6 and it can't find my trucks bluetooth. My galaxy 4 had no problem. If I can't figure it out I will be returning the 6 tomorrow. Any tips?

I was looking at pulling mine off. Did it come off easy or did you break it off? Any suggestions would be welcomed.
