Also don't use dish soap on your paint ever again.

today i'll make a new photo album and show where on the hood the mud was sitting, and i'll take a new picture of the hood showing the spots the mud left. When i scratch on them with my fingernail, white streaks are left it looks like layers of clear coat or wax being scraped away. the chemical composition of the paint was changed. I'm going to try to go to a body shop today and get an opinion. My new problem is a whining when i accelerate in N or 1st gear. I posted in a thread in the tacoma garage portion if you'd like to give any suggestions.

That whining is probably bad idle pulleys or your water pump going out. I had the same thing happen to me after swamping my truck. Had all pulleys and my water pump replaced.

It wasn't cheap. Had someone do it for me. Total bill I think was around $1000.

Mud destroys parts. Pop the hood and have someone rev it up. I'm almost positive it's the bearings on the serpentine belt.

i do thank you for your suggestions thus far and hope there is a somewhat simple solution. I can't imagine what'll happen if i actually do beat on this truck, if i have to.

No problem brother. Did you give the truck a good wash in the engine bay? I do the DIY wash and pop the hood and spray down the motor good after wheeling.

So is the engine bay dirty? If so I would give it a good washing and see what happens.

hey, yea i just got back from a self serve wash, and i sprayed out the engine well and the rest top to bottom. still whines like a bitch. I'm going to take it to a toyota dealer to see what they have to say. Anyone else have suggestions on what it could be besides a buzz kill?

i can hear it as i drive also, then the engine drowns out the noise. it sounds like its coming from underneath, but i'm sure its not...
