    Where are you coming from?

If coming from Jax, head on I-10 west towards lake city. A few miles down you'll see an off ramp for Cecil Commerce Dr, take that and head south for about 10 miles. You'll cross Normandy, 103rd, Argyle, and keep heading south until you see St Vincent's hospital ahead of you. You'll turn right, and head down Old Jennings Rd for 4.5 miles, and you'll see signs for Jennings State Forest, then turn right.

It's not technical at all except a few sandy spots. Again it's mostly fire roads that have been hard packed at the moment. It would be more interesting after it rains though as it's going to be mostly mud back there.

A lot of the side roads were blocked by the forest service, so it's only open to horses, or hiking.

We just started kayaking, so I am always looking out for places to go. We live near UNF, and have gone around Mayport (Oak Harbor or Dutton). Cool places.

Super easy to navigate. Only problem I had was some dude with a mountain bike who wouldn't get off the road. He was taping up his tires with duct tape and electrical tape. The Christian part of me said I should stop and offer help. I ignored that part of me and drove off, he looked like a crazy fucker who wouldn't hesitate to leave me in the woods.

    Cool. Thanks!

I live by UNF, off of JTB. I work off of Normandy Blvd. & Fouraker, so I am familiar with the streets you mentioned. I just didn't know about Jennings until I read it on TW.

Ok cool, should be easy for you to get to. I stopped at Skeleton Key road, it's deep in the woods and got pretty sandy. I didn't have a shovel or anything to get me out in the event I would get stuck. Figured it was best to return better prepared, though unlikely I would need it.

You can go to anastasia state park in st augustine and kayak in the intercoastal, or around fort matanzas, pretty much any park with water has them i think. I wanna say somewhere around amelia island there was another place

A good place to learn & rent is Kayak Amelia, on A1A. It's after Huguenot Park. It'll be on your left when heading north.

We found a killer price at Academy for my kayak (Pelican Angler 100). So I bought it before even trying to kayak. We knew that we would love to do it, so I just jumped on it. Then a couple of months later, Dicks had a deal on another Pelican, so I jumped on that deal for the wife. The prices were cheaper than on what I found on craigslist. They're not the super high-end kayaks, but for us...they're perfect.

I think that's the area I was in. In a wetter day that would be very interesting. I'm still learning about doing anything off road, so it's all new to me.

Are they the traditional kayaks, or the sit on top kind?

    Found it online.
