I was around 38,220 out the door in Utah for a Double Cab 4x4 OR tech package tow package clear bra and window tint. I had no tax because I traded a 2012 F 250 that they valued at 39,200 so it was even.. so they say they probably owed me, but you know how that goes.. I then got a few hundred back after I read the fine print and saw I could cancel the tire and wheel protection that the finance guy said I had to buy (Dick) I hate those finance guys..

This dealer is trying to make me pay these fees. Here is the breakdown of the deal. Let me know what you guys think. The truck is a TRD sport dclb 4x4 premium tech with jbl. Tow, mudguards, and all weather mats.

The Destination & Delivery of $900, TDA (advertising costs) of $616 as well as $9.45 allotted for gas is not included in your breakdown.

This brings the total to $36,902.

Vehicle is in Oregon. No tax until I get back to Cali. Any advice? Not sure how I feel paying for the advertising and delivery.

Based on what kbb.com says my trade in was really worth I paid about invoice for my DCSB OR with tech package. I did pay for some expensive options that I didn't really need by buying it off the lot. $90 exhaust tip and $600 side steps are examples.

You are going to pay that delivery no matter what and the TDA fee you will pay as well no matter where you go. It varies depending on region but in socal it is roughly 4-500. Are they charging you a dealer fee or is it just all bundled together? Don't forget to factor in smog check when bringing it back to CA. Not much when compared to the price of the car, but still a cost.

Everyone pays destination, can't get around that. Advertising and Gas can be negotiated out of the deal.

It's all bundled together. I was told by the dealer that no smog will be required since it's a 50 state vehicle.

I got the identical truck for $33k OTD and then $1200 T.T,&T. You got a good deal. My problem, this dude really wanted to buy the truck as it just came off the semi, he stared at me through the salespersons window. Waiting for me to back out I guess. I looked for a month for a White TRD OR so he didn't have a chance. The sales manager used that asshole against me during haggling. It was $500 more than I wanted. No bigs. I should've flipped that guy off for costing me $500.

Quick question. I'm gonna go buy a new double can off road today. Am I able to negotiate the price of the extended warranty?

The finance guy for me said my extended warranty was 28xx - but could sell it to me for 18xx. So, I am guessing you can negotiate

You DO NOT need to buy the extended warranty when you buy your truck (unless you want to finance it).

ANY dealership can sell it to you. And you WILL get it cheaper because any dealer would love to sell you just the warranty without the hassle of wrapping it into a vehicle purchase. It's like going in and buying something off the shelf in their auto parts department.

Easy money for them and they won't pass it up!

Cool. What's the time frame I would have to purchase it if I was to buy it later and what's the cheapest you guys think I can get it for? You guys rule!

Not sure but I think it's up until your regular warranty expires.

Just play detective! Call a dealership out of your area and tell them you have a 6 month old Tacoma and how much a warranty would be!

Hmm interesting. I am in the same position (live in CA, picking up out of state soon) and I have been told I will have to smog check it even though it is a 50 state vehicle. Credit union won't even finance it until I provide proof that it has been smog checked in california. I'll call AAA and get the definitive answer soon.
