    I did once, to get out of the way of a brush fire blowing towards me faster than I could have driven away. It was either the lake or drive right into (and through) the fire line. Having worked a couple of brush fires by hand before, I chose the lake

    Fortunately the lake had a reasonable sand bottom, and the truck was only in water over the back tires, with the fronts up to the hubs. Drove out with no issue. '68 IH Travelall, L6 4wd, 4spd, manual 4H-4L, manual hubs, military type tires. Front armor with a PTO driven winch.

    Cross country land surveying was a blast.

    Coincidently, my first vehicle was a '71 Travelall.

    Even though your traction control is off the computer will still control it to some extent.I know it's fucked but go out on a wet day and spin your tires. It still derates because it doesn't want the operator to do more damage. Look on the bright side at least your awd system didn't try and kill you.
