Sir: Before you take delivery. Have a document drafted that says the dealer/TMC will refund you 100 percent of costs including taxes if you get a defective product....TMC knows about this at the corporate level. They have not made it public yet...

Update: So, I Called the Toyota "Experience Center" today to follow-up on my case since I was expecting a 1 day call back. I was told that my case was "closed." No action taken --- Case now re-opened. Keep you all posted. Good luck to all of you who are suffering...

Unfortunately, you can get a perfect truck with no detectable vibration, as many in this thread have. 10 or 2000 miles later, vibration pops up without obvious reason. On top of that it seems nearly 100% of all Auto + Towing Package equipped trucks are low on ATF from the factory, 6 months in, and this issue still hasn't been resolved... and the resolution isn't something that needs to be troubleshooted, its as simple as adding more ATF when they add fluids, yet somehow still unresolved. There seems to be a complete disconnect right now at a corporate/production level. As others have mentioned, Toyota hasn't released a TSB for anything in months and months, significantly fewer TSBs than for other vehicles, you can argue that the minority group of people facing the issue are just the most vocal, and that is definitely true, but in the end I like to vote with my wallet.

100 percent agreed. I went thru two perfect trucks in 8 weeks. 1) a Limited built in Baja in December 2015] -failed at 2200 miles. 2) Sport [Built in Texas January 2016]-failed at 1750 miles.

Just another note. Finally out of the cold weather and the "buzz" is more annoying. Used to be pretty calm actually non existent in 6th gear. Now it's there.

Originally, mine was worse in warm weather as well. Now I would say it's the opposite. There's randomness to the intensity for sure, but it has been more behaved over the last week as it has been warming up a bit here.

I don't know if this was mentioned, but have you guys tried greasing the zerk fittings on the drive shaft?

My limited 4x4 was buzzy as well. The buzzing would come and go. One day I greased the drive shaft, but only had time to do the 3 fittings on the rear shaft. I noticed I still had the buzz. Then today I made time and greased the two fittings on the front shaft, and the buzzing has gone down quite a bit and the truck drives a lot smoother.

Note all of my joints took 8 to 9 pumps just to purge.

Not saying this is the fix, but my buzzing is nearly gone.

Just got back from my 5k checkup, mentioned the vibe, he checked
it and said "all was normal, engine mounts appear to be the source but it's
normal and will go away as it settles in."

this is another example of why going to the dealer for these things is a waste of time.

I mentioned everything we're seeing, low atf, ujoints, vibration, leaf spring ubolts
and the xfer case and everything was said to be ok. I was there for the free oil
change - I only asked for them to check all of those hot items so I would have it
in writing that "all was checked and all was ok" should something arise and the just
wrote it and didn't check it, well that'll come back to bite them.

    I'll try it--how man
Three techs I spoke with pointed to the rear engine mounts. Suggested I replace them at my cost.

Replace them with what, the same part number?
Is there revised production date parts available?
Did they elaborate why they thought it was the mounts?

Okay so let me see if I understand this. The engine mounts vibrate, but they want you to replace it at your cost on a brand new truck?

From what I understand, they had the same issue with the 2GEN--you can look at that TSB. They are rubber brackets -cost $100 a piece. Seems like it's the two rear that shifted. Not covered under warranty - yet. I can wait for a TSB or replace them now - at my cost. There is no guarantee it would not happen again...However, he did tell me they traced a similar problem on the new Highlander to an "exhaust mount bracket."

The brackets on the motor mount make sense if they shift and ground out against the frame. Could defiantly cause what is being felt. Just weird you can't duplicate it while sitting still in drive and brake torquing?? If you did replace the mounts at your expense and a tsb came out, I would think you could get reimbursed for parts if you replaced and reimbursed parts & labor if dealer installed. Providing part # match tsb?

Wow that's crazy. I should take a peak at mine. I need to buy a new creeper, because it seems like I'm spending a lot of time under this truck lol.

I have not done so yet -- the cost is probably $400 to do so. From what he said - it's a "harmonic vibration coming from the engine - transferring to the chassi-most likely at the rear engine mounts because the vibrations start at the front floor boards." This is basically exploratory at this point. Maybe someone can attach the TSB on this from Gen 2--has color pics of the mounts.

Remember that another poster has his mounts adjusted and he said it got worse. This sounds like it has a decent chance of being the problem. We will see....

I recall that they were "adjusted". My tech is telling me to replace the 2 rear mounting brackets only - not the front.
