That sounds fun, never really understood how turbines work but it would be cool to work on stuff like that.

Sometimes maintenance pushes airplanes...here's me (my view sitting in a TLD Tug TPX-500) getting ready to push a Pratt & Whitney powered Airbus 310-300 inside a hangar.

Even with the correct wind (wind sock noted in back ground) I'd piss myself on this one!

I think most modern western aircraft are safe if maintained correctly. Same with operators...western owned with properly trained crews (can't stress this part enough) is high up on my list when choosing which airline to fly.

I gotta say IMO (an exception), I can't help but think of ValueJet when I hear people talk about Allegiant (G4). I recently paid more for a ticket on Southwest to avoid them...

    Check out this link.

I hate to see mx sent to vendors especially to a 3rd world environment.

That said, I do have to question the relationship between the door snubber and the seal on the 737 NPR talks about.

I would only add that whoever holds the operating certicificate is held accountable for the work as much as (if not more) the provider

    Malaysia. Asiana. Eva.

Avoid southeast Asian airlines pretty much all together if you can. Not racist, just a reality.

Singapore is a fantastic airline however.

    http://www.37000feet.com/report/679...er-was-replaced-incorrectly-damaging-the-door

This guy's reason for an incorrect install which caused the door seal damage is pitiful.

Since this might have affected the proper operation and pressurization seal of the door, it should have been RII... So where was the inspector ? He probably hadn't performed this job before so he should have been trained (properly). OJT ?

aint nobody got time for that !!!

Don't know about Song, but Jet Blue is a quality airline. Skywest now basically owns the world and is also a great airline.

Great Lakes is a little shotty, and Rebuplic is now folding. Spirit is supposed to be pretty good with amazing prices.

The FAA has really cracked down on poor maintenance and improper flight training. Part of this whole pilot shortage thing is due to the increased training requirements.

Again, Asia doesn't follow the same guidelines.

My least favorites were World and Tower Air. Those contract bastards only took me to shitty locations on planes that had at least one broken toilet, flat cushions, broken A/V systems, and bad HVAC.

    "Freedom Bird" rides generally sucked.
