Canadian taxes and prices are beholden to our weak currency since the collapse of oil prices, so nothing Canadian will sound like a good deal to you guys. I bought my 2015 Sport Premium last Fall just before the 2016's were delivered. It was on the dealers lot so I got to drive it first, look it over and think about it. It was 37.8k before taxes etc. the dealer have me 2k off for cash so I paid cash.
I put on a tonneau, TRD Pro suspension, some weather tech floor mats, bought a set of used OEM rims for winter tires and a set of Blizzaks. Probably another 4.5k.
I agree with the previous posters about vehicles not being an investment. But they are a necessity, at least where I live. I've driven a lot of beater trucks, and got to work by spending cold nights in barns keeping them running, so it's great when you can afford something new. It's my only vehicle and daily driver. The best truck I've ever owned. When it's, it's done, and I'll have enough money saved to buy a new one when that happens.

Welcome to your own opinion. But not your own facts.
The fit and finish on my Ram 1500 Laramie is excellent. And the list of features / options is outstanding.

The resale on dodge trucks is awesome compared to a Tacoma too. (Sorry there is no sarcasm text to be used)

No prob. The fit n finish opinion is subjective. Im 62 years old and have wrenched professionally for almost 40 years. Everything has its place, and to me Chrysler has never made it to the top, theyve nearly went out of business at least 2x and got bailed out once by the military in WW2, and Lee Iaccocca back in the 80's. My $.02

My son in law had one before he got a tacoma, never drove it but ridden in it a few times. I can tell by the touch and feel of doors, tailgates and controls how well its designed. I also drove professionally too, not in a dodge, but you learn how well somethings made by going down the road and the sounds the cab, frame, suspension make. Im not trying to insult Dodge owners, just my experience leads me to my opinion. Ive been both chevy and ford truck owner for years. Chevy had best comfort and style/fit and finish. Fords were beasts in comparison, but takes a licking and kept on ticking. Similar to Peterbilt, Kenworth, and Freightliner, fit and finish and resale were in that order.
I actually like the last gen Dodge ram with the Cummins, Im sure they are a beast also, but IMO wouldnt buy because of my knowledge of the companies history. They may be a ton better in todays world, but I too old to continue buying vehicles that dont suit my needs. I bought the Taco to last for a dozen years I hope.

I was a full Chevy man for decades. Dozen pickups. SUVs. Vans. Handful of Corvettes....

I had a few F150's along the way.

I could have bought any full size 50K+ truck I wanted. Knowing after rebated and discounts, I'd be in loaded Tacoma $$ territory.

I went with the Ram. My 1st. The interior is the nicest I've had. (My last full size was a king ranch). The Hemi is strong and gets decent mpg. The RamBox and cargo management system is spectacular. I love all the features inside and out.

I'm one month and 3,000 miles in. So far, I think it's going to be a good truck.

Depending where one lives its difficult to park a full size. I live by San Francisco and parking around here sucks the big one, cities are replacing full size stalls with compacts and the fuckin morons with compacts park in the full size stalls. What else is new. Coreys out in Fontana, plenty of room out there. But where I live I can get around 10x better with a taco. I used to tow an RV, if I still did that I would be looking at the Duramax or Cummins. Sorry Ford turned me off with their POS 6.0 diesel, even though theyve replaced it.

Yeah, the debate about brands is like talking about which woman is the most beautiful. Every brand has it's customers and fans, and variety make the world an interesting place. Hey, we couldn't feel so superior about a Tacoma I'd that's all there was, eh? I can see though , that anyone trying to make a case for an American built truck on a forum like this is wasting their time.

It's funny because the 6.0 is now considered one of the most reliable PSD's once it has been bullet-proofed ... I think it just got a bad rep at first because of teething problems, but once the aftermarket figured it out there is a larger acceptance of it.

They dont make the 6.0 anymore, its either 6.4 or 6.7. I forget now, we switched to V10 gas. BS they were a POS, I work in a fleet that had at least 50 of them between 2 shops, one shop didnt bullet proof them and they failed 2-3 at a time. In my shop I introduced the bulletproof and they lasted until the cam follower needle bearings would let go at about 120k, and wiped out the cam and we had to replace motors, roughly 25-30 of them total.First shop started failing in warranty, then kept failing after that. The BP ones lasted to the fifth of 6 years, then the bearings let go.

I love when people bring up the bailout. Ford and Toyota got bailouts too.

True, but the Chrysler ones were more significant. Dont know how old some folks are on here but, I remember business classes talking how the example used was WWII and Lee Iacocca.

I see you keep coming to the 3rd gen TACOMA forum and telling us how awesome your new Ram Truck is (to the point of starting a new thread telling us how awesome your new Ram truck is)

Personally, your posts smells of severe buyers remorse, and you keep coming here to compare your truck with the Tacomas.

Just my opinion. Feel free to keep posting.

When I was in grade school, everyone had air jordan shoes. I mean everyone. We all hung out together and talked basketball and shoes. Then one day this guy comes in with a pair of Reebok dancing shoes. He keeps telling us how his shoes are superior in everyday and for the money, they are a much better value than the air jordans. He would try to hang out with his everyday--and truthfully we didn't mind him as we know everyone has a different taste for footwear.. At the end of the day he really just wanted some air jordans.

Now to tell that story if you were from Oakland, people died for a pair of Jordans.
