    I just finished my presentation on using a web service with XML. Had to program an entire database using Oracle, Visual Basic, and had to develop an XML schema to make the web service work... I am glad i am done and graduating this tuesday....

    Well I am doing Electronic Medical Records with the hosiptal, which fits my major. Information Management and Systems. But i would strongly suggest you try something in the health field. If you are entering the IT field, Electronic Medical Records and Health field is a fast growing field. My department only has maybe 20 people, but we are expected to grow up to maybe 100 people.

    We're going to EMR up here too. What a pain in the ass it's been so far. :laugh: Had to setup 200 laptops, lock them down so the user's can't screw them up, setup separate wireless SSID's for each nursing unit, velcro and lock the laptops to carts.... Parts for the carts were back ordered and we needed to crank out 50+ a week to meet to go live dates for each of the 3 floors of the hospital, and 1 off site location. And this doesn't even cover the 15-20 clinics associated with the hospital. Hospital side is done I think, but now they need to work out the details for the off site locations and implement by March. More long days ahead for me I think.

    Yeah we have 100+ providers that use the EMR software. We mostly support the software and do the implementation, go live, but IS does the set up of the laptops. the hospital doesnt have it i dont think, becasue i think they are waiting on that to be done last. They want to focus on the providers first.
