They don't have Maxxs in 255/85/16 on eBay. :(

TreadDepot ftw I guess. $202 each. $169 shipping for five.

I just discovered yesterday that my buddy has ST Maxx 285/75/16 on his 1984 Chevy pickup. He says he really likes them.

His kind of 4 wheeling involves mud as I understand...

My buddy has the 295/70/17's on his DCLB but he ha a 6incg lift. I've thought about swapping wheels/tires with him for a day to see how the fit my truck.

I'm just going in on them in a few weeks. :sawzall: Only hung up on snow/ice conditions honestly I'm aired down 90% of the time and some of the reviews I'm reading people aren't and that's when they are saying these don't exactly shine

Mine have been great in snow but I've never had a non studded or non ice/snow specific tire do great on ice. Maybe get them siped?

It's more Packed snow up here in the Northeast. Likewise no tire is going to excel on ice unless studded. Basically coming from GY duras and it's pretty apparent that 90% of the Offroad community runs Goodyear and BFG. Half DD Half trail and beach runs. In an ideal world I would have two sets and just rotate them out. I've had the duratracs in slushy snow, hardening slushy snow (semi-icy) and they were pretty good. But it's all I know

    Hence the hesitation

I think you'd like these tires. They are drilled for studs as well if that was a route you'd want to go.

I'm going to give them a run. Honestly I wasn't overly impressed with any tire in super soft sand. Just being wider alone would help me float on that and there are some sections of one specific area that has sharp rocks so should be coopers for the win. Especially now that I have some road trips planned out the tougher construction should be a confidence boost

Fresh updated Toytec Ultimate lift, Dakar leafs, LRUC's Bla Bla Bla. & level 8's /255/80/17"s Cooper ST Maxx.
I have 255/80/17 on level 8 wheels at 35PSI as Cooper will tell you if you call them. I have a 08 with a 6 standard transmission. I have a new ToyTec Ultimate lift Dakar leafs, LRUCA....... I don't drive over 70MPH, most of the time 60 MPH. I had the Rugged Fails, BF TA KO's than Cooper St's. The ST Maxx are over all the best. The thinner 255/85/16's ST's did sit a little taller but much thinner. The Maxx is the better tire. I will say the old Thinner ST was better in deeper snow 12" + not by much. I drove through 15" of powder no problem. The maxx just dint feel the same. Still can do it just the front slides a bit more.

I have mine at 40 and it's way too much. I think around 32 give or take. Someone here did an awesome write up of all his air pressure testing and can't for the life of me find it. It was full of really good real world results.
