The logo on the centre cap has little prongs on the back that hold them on. You just have to squeeze the prongs together one section at a time and the logo will easily come off. Just be careful not to break them, and they will pop right back on after.

Yup, me too. Held up for over a year until I caught a nail in a tread. The tire shop thrashed the dip replacing the tire so I ripped it all off. Still like having new wheels better, but for $30 in dip and a couple hours of work it was a great result.

I think black would look good too, but really anything would look better to my eye than that corroded bright metallic shiny chrome look. For the first few months of owning the truck I longed for aftermarket wheels, but the trd sport rims, having been dipped, have grown on me quite a bit.

A decent tire shop can do a good job. I had my tires changed, and didnt have a need to re-do the plasti dip.

Rustoleum flexi-dip. I'm real happy with the finish. Just cleaned the rims and sprayed them

So just a little update...finished up, and I'm really liking the look. Should be good until I get some funds together and get some aftermarket rims.

Did you spray them while on the truck? Just wondering as you lug nuts are done too. I wonder how annoying that will be if you need to change a tire

You will do a far better job if you remove the wheels from thr truck. Yes you can go and put rags or stuff to block you brakes and do it on, but you can't grt in all the corners or the back side dish of the rim very easily.

I am currently dipping my rims. They are being done in Gunmetal grey, with a red toyota logo. I am only doing the drivers side today, as I only have 1 set of jack stands to hold the truck up Mmmmm in the air.

Will post pics once they are back on.

I actually removed them, and went ahead and sprayed the lug nuts while the rims were drying not realizing until afterwards they were just going to mess up once I put them back on lol

So i decided to Plasti Dip my rims Gunmetal Grey, to be a bit different from most I see and what I have done myself in the past.

Here they are while being done. I was really liking the look.
    20160315_123852_zpshgxvbglq_c9b34face4ba41ba1fd64dd1f42052704a353bbb.jpg

And here is the finished truck.
    20160316_111838_zpsgq0sjt9a_3fec6a4a17d00b091753dcb18b0a4c3bd56888d7.jpg

I think the color would great on certain colors, such as my Dad's MGM Tacoma, but I just was not a fan on my silver.

So today I ripped the dip off the outside of the rims(the inner part will have to wait till I have more time.) and did a test dip in black on the center caps to see what I thought.
    20160316_151830_zpskre8bfno_4327bd75cb2c03666a48441abf740a2e09739888.jpg

I am very happy with the results of this. The red was done with Rustoleum's version of Plasti Dip, which I would NOT recomend. It doesnt like corners. If you look closly in the corners of the Toyota logos, you can see they are not crisp. I will redoo them sometime in the future, but for now I can live.

The rest of the rims will be done in the next few days.

You can do it by masking the parts that you don't want to get dip but you have to unmask it before it dries. If not you will peel the dip with the tape

If you want to redo your rims, have them powder coated, it looks so much better and isnt too expensive
