So if it does get closed is AOP the next spot? I don't get too many Saturdays off so this would be the only time for me to actually be able to go up there for awhile.
@Skootter14 just watched that video you posted up earlier of AOP and it looks to be a really fun place.

Whether or not it rains isn't the problem. Forecasting is the problem.

Black mountain and Windrock are 100 miles closer to me than AOP and are my backup plans for the weekend; looks like no matter where you go in the southeast it's forecasted to rain on Saturday into the night. at least the mountains in KY/TN could potentially break some of it up. Who knows, could clear up at gulches by Wednesday, not looking good though.

yea that was my first time there and I absolutely loved it. They're plenty of spots off the main trails that enable those more daring to hop off and try. We ended up with about 10 trucks in line and just pulling off to help spot/watch the more daring folk try making it up particular black routes. Had a couple minor things break (@allmotorrex LCA skid bolt snapped so we had to run a cutoff wheel from the plug in the bed of my truck to cut it off. another debeaded his tire, twice in 2 days, in the same spot haha, great times)

Yeah I can't make my plans around maybe he will be open. Too far.. I'll probably just make ure my first run of the year... I don't care if it rains down there just makes it to slick to break, and it's close enough to just roll down there on a whim..

I'd like to go there, think it's about the same drive, may be a little chilly but less wet for the weekend.

Let me know what you guys are doing, I'm pretty open.

Probably shooting for the weekend @ Rausch too, instead since the weather is looking pretty wet at gulches.

Good morning gents! Anyone else been paying attention to this? What are your thoughts? I've never been down to Gulches, do they close the park if its really sloppy and wet?

Yep. Wet is no good at Gulches. Parts of the park are prone to flooding. Esp near the river.

Unless the chances drop under 30%, he won't even consider opening the park.... I'll talk to him later today and also on Wednesday for final call.
