dropped my baby off at the dealer to get the frame replaced gave me a 2016 tacoma for a week

So going to take Rob's (@mach1man001) advice and not look into powder coating my stock wheels anymore. Instead going to save up and buy a nice set of black rims, maybe TRD or something real nice. Then going to slap a set of winter tires on the stock rims and a set of summer tires on the nice rims. Time to start saving up and keeping an eye out!

Gave her a nice bath and waxed the cap.

 

Bathed her, no pics though....immediately pulled into garage to save the rare occasion of clean black paint since pollen is already falling while I was washing lol

 

Been meaning to get around to this project for a while now, but glad the weather was finally nice enough to be outside...

...so this weekend, I dipped my wheel covers:

Started out with a set of aftermarket "chrome" wheel covers (skins) and put down about 8 layers of black Plasti Dip with a couple additional coats of gloss enhancer.

Personally happy with how they came out:

 

SCS F5 or FJ Cruiser Trail Team wheels!

 

Have to check them out and see how much $ they are. Don't want anything that I'll have to put huge tires on. Want to keep the "mall crawler" look.

 

Nice organizer...where did you find this and how is it attached? Velcro?

Overhead console returned to its original location.

 

Installed my AVS in-channel visors and greased the 5 zerks on the driveline. As said in other threads, I had to pump 8-9 pumps in the rear and 5-6 in the front. Crazy.

 

Got a little crazy today

 

Road trip and camping was a complete success, 2000 miles on the truck over the 7 day vacation.

Got the color matched grill installed and put on a 16" shorty antenna. We'll see how the reception is with it. I listen to XM a lot so it won't be a huge deal.

Took me forever to get the old grill off. There are a bunch of tabs along the bottom that click into place and I was really babying them. Didn't want to break any because I'd like to sell the old grill. Eventually I just started pulling and they came out fine. So... chrome grill for sale!

Also got some grey dip for the Tacoma badges on the door, might look cool with the Silver Sky. Just hasn't been quite warm enough to do that yet.

 

How do you like the AVS? Put mine in on Wednesday night and love the look. Haven't opened my windows yet though. Letting them settle in.
