for arguments sake, in your opinion what makes it obviously intentional?
because he didn't change coarse?

IMHO he was skating towards the bench, Went directly over to the ref, & pushed him down from behind

 

No if I was him , I would say something like " now that the decision has been reached , I just want to move forward "

Its beyond ridiculous that there was no intent to make contact with the linesman

Their paths crossed as Wideman was going to the bench, it's plausible that Wideman didn't see Henderson in time to avoid a collision and brought his hands up at the last second as a natural reaction to protect himself.

Mostly the fact that he crosschecked a linesman about a million steps away from the play and then lied about how he was feeling until this flared up on YouTube and CBC. His captured texts didn't help either:

Dude, have you ever played? The official was launched into the ice. Wideman didn't brace. He flat out leveled the linesman with a crosscheck in motion. That's a big difference.

Clearly you can see him skate towards the linesman, not move out of his way, and level the guy
