I know, very funny... If this is an indication of toyotas build quality than its disappointing and not something I expected from a new vehicle. I'm just curious if this is an isolated incident that I should pursue with Toyota or if this is something others are experiencing. I have searched and there are still not many posts on the 2016's.

In all seriousness, I would drive it back to the dealership and have them address the issue. BTW I couldn't resist being a smartass, it's like chocolate.

I'm used to it from the jeep forums and pirate4x4lol.

It seems from what I've been reading that some earlier models had this issue also, I'll head up to the dealer and see if they can take care of it

Hmmm, so a possibly bad seat (or maybe even a loose bolt perhaps) equals slipping build quality? Do you ground your kids when they get a B+ and not an A?! Little harsh, don't you think?

Well seeing as how Toyota has seemed to have had this problem for quite a few years and has yet to remedy it points to a lack in either quality control or customer/dealer/auto maker communication. It's not a loose bolt, I checked.

And depending on the parent, expectations, student and circumstances that may or may not be an overreaction. But that's neither here nor there.

Either way, the Tacoma is not a cheap truck at around $40k. I just thought for the price, someone would have sat in the seat and noticed it moved beyond its proper tolerances.

NO, take it back to your dealer and make them fix it. If it's gonna take more than an hour ask for a loaner, and beat the hell out of it. If not eat all their donuts, drink all their coffee and piss somebody off...

I have a little play in the back of my driver seat. Doesn't bother me. Let us know what the dealer does for you.

Thanks for the replies everyone, I will post back with the dealers response. I may be splitting hairs but this just seems to bug me.

No offense, but I don't get the point of these kinds of threads. Obviously the seat rocking or moving while accelerating or braking is not normal. And since it's a brand new truck, the obvious solution should be to take it to the dealership and have them take a look at it. haha

I don't know about the OP but mine isn't rocking when accelerating or braking. I'm talking 1/4 in. of movement if I grab and shake the drivers seat back. Not something I personally would waist my time taking to the dealer for. Maybe if I was already going there I would have them check it out.

I mean it's not slamming me into the dash or the back seat but it's enough that it's annoying when your driving. My passenger chair is tight.
