No. TRAC regulates both brakes and power. ATRAC only works in 4 low and only regulates brakes. At least that's how I understand it.

Trac is traction control works in 'normal driving mode'

this slows down throttle if wheel spin is detected

Atrac is in 4lo mode only, and it does electronic brake, limited slip differential duty for all 4 wheels

ATRAC is only offered on 09+ TRD off roads as they have the necessary electric boosted master cylinder vs the vacuum boosted master of any other model.

If can only be switched on by its dedicated switch (under the climate controls in the center dash) in 4LO

The electric boosted master cylinder is capable of 2x the line pressures compared to the vacuum assisted unit, and it is also much quicker at pulsating the brakes, creating a much much stronger simulated LSD than any other model of 2nd gen tacoma (same thing goes for 3rd gen).

Track also does the 4-wheel limited slip, but may be less aggressive, and operates in 2wd and 4high.

As it has been said, TRAC doesn't function in 4low so when in 4low you essentially have a front and rear open diff. That sucks.

However..... If you search "yellow wire mod" you should read up on that. Very simple. If you are ever trying to climb up a steep loose grade in 4low you will be glad you did it. It essentially gives you the auto LSD front and rear and keeps you moving forward instead of staying put with one front wheel and one rear wheel spinning without traction.

Probably the biggest difference that anyone will be able to notice, has to do with the brake booster. Vehicles equipped with "atrac" are equipped with an ELECTRIC brake booster. Those not equipped with atrac, have a conventional vacuum powered brake booster. What that means, is that non-atrac can only operate until they run out of vacuum, while the atrac ones can keep on running until they have to shut down to keep from overheating.

The atrac booster can also be set on a finer trigger, since you don't have to worry about running out of vacuum -- i.e., you can use it more.

Not te same. ATRAC is TRAC with ability o hold pressure to each wheel, hence a need for separate hydro boost.
If you need more tactic you can get TRUETRAC for rear diff and it will help you a lot.
