I didn't want to mention that...but I'll take Southern California weather for $2000 Alex.

Did you know we can leave our windows open in California year round...WITHOUT SCREENS.

Anyway, I'm not bashing on the South by any means. It has its positives as well...

Yikes, that sucks !! Damn now ya got me thinking. Here we have bugs to, black flies, deer flies, skeeters, etc etc. I know I can only keep my NY plates so long down there before that becomes and issue. I will still own property up here and I can claim my res is up here but like I said, it would become an issue. Especially with NY plates on it. They will think I am Johney Crackslinger or something. Damn, this is a problem. Thank you all for your help.

My little 2013 2.7 baby taco had taxes right around $450 this year. High mileage only took off 25. So $425. But I lived in an expensive county. I'm wondering what my next bill will be now that I've moved.

Don't rule it out if this is where you want to go. I can't imagine taxes on a T would be much...it's the newer vehicles that'll bleed you dry. I'd talk to the county assessor's office of where you're thinking about and they can tell you exactly what you'll be looking at in taxes per auto.

It's really a good state to live in. Most of the folks are good people. The state has everything form mountains to beaches, nice weather, and lots of quiet country living. There is a reason that so many folks from the northeast move here.

If you want to keep your NY residence, you should. Out of state plates in the south are not going to draw any extra attention to you. Lots of people from the northeast come down here during the winter months.
