So I sold my DRZ400sm to a very nice elderly man, 69 years old, and his wife yesterday. They drove 6 1/2hrs to buy the bike. So we got all the paperwork signed and went out to load it up and we got the bike into the back of the truck and he went to jump off the side of the truck (late 80's Toyota 4x4 pick up) and lost his balance and slammed to the ground face first. I am pretty sure he was knocked unconcious for 20-30 seconds or so. He never got to brace himself at all. Luckily my dad and I are firefighters so we knew what to do (not saying if your not a firefighter you wont know what to do) so when he felt up to it we moved him to a chair and got to see what he did, cut to the top of his forehead about 2" and a cut on the top of his nose. He instantly had 2 black eyes. So we loaded him up in the Taco and took him to the hospital yesterday, Wednesday, and they are going to be keeping him at least until tomorrow, possibly saturday. His wife cant drive so we had her stay with us last night. We did everything we could to make sure she felt comepletly comfortable. We gave her the master bedroom and my parents took my room and I got the couch. Their son came up today so they can trailor the pick up home and so he can drive them home. He builds custom motorcycles, I think they are pretty cool http://www.toddscycle.com/index.html. So it was very weird day yesterday and today. They are extrememly nice people. I just know that if it had happened to my parents I would hope someone would do the same. Wow long story, but it just felt good knowing that we helped someone.

i have to admit... i just out of the back of the trucks all the time... not too smart... did it the other day not thinking about the fact that my legs were super sore after running and weight lifting... only thing i could do is go splat. wont be doing that again... those older yotas are a good distance from the ground too. i know my 93 was.

Ya, he has jumped out of the side a million times, this time his foot slipped off of the fender and he was already going forward to put his hands on the side so his momentum took him right over. It is something we all do and will continue to do. I saw him the whole time and it felt like an eternity. i watched his face slam the ground and it was aweful.

I told him miltiple times that he DOES NOT have to purchase the bike, and it will be no hard feelings. But he says he wants it.
