Mine has it and was built in October.

I am always leery of secondary problems when the dealer does work like squeaks and rattles.

Will have to figure out which can be worse - the original reset or what else could happen with the fix.

I haven't payed much attention to this till last weekend and you'll be absolutely floored to hear I have the same issue. Best I can tell it's resetting every time I turn the ignition off and on as I've never seen more than a single trip history report. Time to make a couple phone calls.

At the expense of sounding skeptical, which I am NOT, I shall continue to stand by, especially since my two car family has been reduced to ONE for possibly the next two weeks.
That is great news however. I haven't had the SNAFU for about 400 miles now. Talk about a false sense of security, eh?
I wonder if your case is being watched so anyone with a case number might be contacted with the development of a service bulletin.

Well, After 3 months of no resetting, mine did it again today. DAMN!

    9850 mi.

I had this happen 3 times and called Toyota, took the truck in, had the field rep look at it. He said there was nothing they could replicate at the time so there was nothing they could do.

ODDLY, today, during my drive to work, was the first time in the same 3 months that I used the app-"ECO" feature and pressed the update button to store my fuel economy. (I actually stored it twice in 15 mi intervals). Curious though, that app resets it's fuel economy when you update the past record, and I am wondering if this is somehow related. When I got in the car to drive home from work both trip A and trip B were both reset and the ODO was being displayed (I always leave it on Trip A). I will continue to use the app- "ECO" and press update tomorrow and see if I can define some correlation between the two.

On a strange side note: After the reset and on the 50 mi. drive home from work, the truck definitely seemed to be driving differently. Shifting different from normal and also throttle felt different than normal. Kinda seemed like the ECU reset itself and was back into learning mode for fuel trims and shifting patterns like when the truck was new.

Or, and this is a longshot, I wonder if Toyota can push ecu updates via entune, as the truck was driving THAT differently than what I am used to. Not badly, but definitely different than what it has for the past 5 months (got my truck in October). This is perfect for the conspiracy theorists among us! lol.

I will give yet another call to cust. service and open another case file for the same problem, again.

I am picking up mine for first time tomorrow from the dealership after special order. I wonder, does this bug affect only early model 16's or do the new late models have the problem as well?

Time will tell. Unless they identified a bad batch b4 your build and circumnavigated the issue.

As of now, my truck is scheduled for repair on the 24th. Of course the last time they scheduled a repair they backed out. It is still not clear if replacing the meter module is the standard repair or if there is another fix in the works. I will try to find out these things once (if) my truck is repaired hopefully with some sort of TSB or other reference number so others needing this repaired will have a simple reference to give to Toyota. If this fix they intend to do proves the final solution I will update the thread title.

I had this happen. DCLB OR 4x4, Baja, December 02, 2015 build date. ~3900 miles at time of self reset

I drove it home from work on Friday. 20 minute drive. In Saturday morning, all trips were reset. I bought gas 2 weeks ago and have driven twice between last fuel up and this self reset. I reset A after every fuel up and I reset B after every oil change. I hope this doesn't happen after I get my first oil change. I have never had this happen on any previous vehicle.

 Mine was a 12/15 Baja build and while this hasn't happened to me yet :fingerscrossed: I to use the trip meters like you do so this would be a major pain, let alone knowing they were going to have to tear into my dash to replace the module to fix it.

I have noticed the sign of the trip meters resetting is that my display screen is goes from the brightest setting to very dim. So basically when the trip meters resets on its own, the display brightness reverts to a dimmer setting. I sure hope Toyota finally comes out with a verified fix for this as it's beyond annoying!

It did that to me after the reset! I always have them on full brightness and they were not on full brightness on Saturday after it happened! WOW

Yes. My observation is that it is losing *all* temporary/stored state data in the odometer module. Trip meters, mpg data, stored user preferences, etc. After 5 times with ~4600 miles on the truck, I've gotten pretty familiar with it. Heh.
