How water tight should the cover be? I noticed some water entry near the tailgate and on the side in between the middle panel and panel by the tailgate. '16 Limited.

Was that from regular driving or did you go through the car wash?

I have a hard factory tonneau cover on a 2016 limited Its has rain here, haven’t seen any water in the bed. May sure the it closed and latch tight on the middle section.

I've had water come into my OEM cover from the sides. I double check for the second click before storms and check the bed after the rain and there is alway beads of water coming down. May ask them to look at it when I take it in for the 5K service.

Here are pics of the water coming in as a reference. Small beads, not enough to bother me.

My 16 Limited leaks at the back, it's not sealing down on the tailgate. I've tried pushing down on the latch area to get the "second" click, hasn't happened. Am I just not being aggressive enough?

yeah, nothing here either. The manual clearly says it's not watertight though and to take care with cargo that may be damaged by water.

Haven't checked mine after a rain storm yet, but now you guys have me curious if I'll see any water. Also, never have gotten a second click here

I can get second clicks with mine but only after adjusting the cleats in the bed rails. They tend to get in the way and make it difficult to get the second click. Even with the second click, I still get some water in mine. It's not waterproof from what the manual says. It's not much that gets in, but still lets some water in.

Maybe I'm more egressive when I shut the last section which I kid of just let it go a couple inches above the tailgate to make sure it shuts all the way but I haven't had any problems with it leaking at all. In fact I've been really impressed how water tight mine has been.

@OffsetPlayer2 has the trick if you can't get the 2nd click! I had to move my cleats away from the tailgate some before I could get that 2nd click. It does help keep water out but it still isn't water tight.

The best advice I have used is to shut tailgate FIRST, then close back section firmly pushing down for clicks. Still get some Oregon rain in there.:rain:

Figured it out. I was getting the "second click" immediately. Was sloppy loose. Removed entire assembly, removed side latch ears, leaned it against the house and installed an American Truck Cover Rollup. Works good now.

I wasn't getting the second click either. So I removed the latches, put some thin washers underneath the latches. Now I get the second click everytime and haven't had an issue with water.
