I wish I got a picture, I saw a 1960's military Jeep pickup yesterday at Autozone. The owner came out just as I was going to snap a picture and I didn't wnat to be a weirdo. Looked all original, right down to the canvas top. It was a nice looking machine.

I love the H1, that's my dream ride. Depending on the condition, I would guess somewhere north of $80k.

A friend of mine almost bought an H1 back in the day. I went with him and that was the most awesome test ride ever. The guy went down a STEEP ledge dropping it right down on it's belly pan and sliding it down the rocks. The H1 was used, it used to be owned by Mo Vaughn

Saw a few (H1) of them at Rausch one time. There was a group of military vehicle guys there. Deuce and a half's.... pick ups and a couple H1s. They were having fun for sure. They stuck to the powerline and some of the wider connector roads within the park. Funny thing is those "roads" that we used to congregate on between trails are now becoming trails in their own rite. The park changes year by year now.

He seemed like he was in a rush, I asked him what year it was but he b-lined from the store to the driver's seat and took off. I'm sure you're right, usually people with interesting or fully restored vehicles love talking about them, he just seemed like he was trying to get somewhere that day so I didn't want to hold him up.

Yeah, Access cabs only, apparently. From what I understand all they do is unbolt the mounts, add thread lock, and torque them back down.

I've got a service coupon to get one for $99. Not sure what it runs normally, though.

I'm that way when I'm driving the '69. Usually I've got no problem if somebody wants to talk about it or ask questions. I'll fire the motor up, let them sit behind the wheel, whatever. But sometimes I've actually got to be somewhere and it's kind of a pain, lol. But, I'll tell them that normally it's not a problem but I'm in a bit of a rush and tell them to go ahead and flag me down next time they see me.

Yes, that's a great deal assuming the bushings are installed. I have to ask though, why would you want to replace them, to get new bushings? If so, as you and John saw with mine, salvaging the old hardware isn't really feasible.

They are used so yes the bushings and ball joints would already be installed. I want to replace them because my front end is starting to rattle a little going over bumps. I am changing my UCA's so I might as well do my LCA's at the same time and have all low mileage/new bushing and ball joints.

Are you going to install the greasable bolts or get new OEM bolts? What about uppers, going OEM or aftermarket? You had bad luck with Light Racing UCA's didn't you?

I'm going to use OEM bolt's (hopefully off the truck with the 6K) and I already have a set of Camburg BJ upper's. The LR uppers I have didn't work I think because they were installed with the cupped washers installed backwards. Drivers side was fine but passenger side bushing was no good. It's the old style bushings anyways. I'm going to sell them explaining that they need the new bushings installed.

If that $155/ea includes bushings and the hardware, that's a great deal. The hardware alone is over $100 for both sides if my memory serves me correctly.
