Lots and lots of money gets that job rolling...
$: Get a true cold air intake (not stubby open intake) cat back exhaust and cat delete if you're not in Ca. Headers too if they make them for the 4-cylinder. I noticed my volant CAI and borla cat back exhaust a little.
$$: turbo or supercharger if magnuson makes them for the 4-cylinder?
    $$$: buy a 4.0l taco?
$$$$: buy a fast coupe, these are trucks, they are not meant to handle well and go fast.

If you want to go fast, your first and foremost mistake was purchasing a 4 banger Tacoma. It will never go "fast", no matter what you do.

What it will do is get the job done and last a lifetime, but if you want a fast car then you need to seriously consider trading it in for something designed for your desired purposes.

Be happy with what you got. If you can't be happy with it, trade it for a v6.

Study hard, get good grades and make good choices than when you graduate High School you can get a well paying stable job than you make power upgrades.

On a serious note, for what little power you will gain from it, the things to look into would be an aFe DRY drop in filter (possibly secondary air filter removal [carbon filter]), LC Engineering header (or Doug thorley), exhaust, and regear. All of the info is out there about these. And of course URD makes a reputable s/c kit.

This. Forced induction is the only way to get noticeable gains (as opposed to more noise), but it's more expensive than trading for a V6.

Upgrading to TRD Off Road trim level instantly gets you an 8" third member. :anonymous:
