So you're bashing me because i placed my opinion. i forgot, once you don't have a tacoma you're a idiot. and fake discounts? lmfao.

I give discounts to everyone, and if you don't like it, buy elsewhere. Sorry that i think the shocks going straight up and down when you are trying to flex, it going to bend them funny,

You were an idiot prior to your Tacoma. I'm just pointing out the obvious.

And how so? I've never even met you before, but it's okay, We all know you're far superior than everyone on here because you spend the most money on your taco.

Not my fault my opinion differs from yours and i think i am right when it comes to that. That is why alot of people with rock crawlers and moderate trail vehicles have them angled, not nearly bottomed out for up travel, and allows for more articulation of the shock

    Frank,

that is straight up and down, im talking about if you were looking from the rear, those shocks are ||, i'm talking about having the shocks like /\ for whenevr you droop them out, they won't be stressed like )(

Due to the fact that you looked at a picture and didn't know what was going on and decided to shit on it. The shocks are angled toward the rear of the truck and cater to the travel that these springs cycle to full droop/bump. I suggest you look at it again before talking.

Personally when I don't know what I'm talking about I keep my mouth shut. I don't remember you taking a measuring tape to my truck and measuring it's travel ever but please let the butthurt flow.

By asking a question is taking a shit on a picture? lmfao, grow the fuck up and get out of high school, the only person that actually responded to me with a actual answer
    @allenfab.

So before you go talking shit, realize it was a question and not a comment, douche.

You all do realize mounting shocks like / \ reduces their effectiveness and why you don't see it on trail rigs and race rigs.

Again it was a question that got blown out of proportion because people automatically think you're talking shit. High school drama.

It was a question and i have a valid point, you say trail rigs don't have it, but alot of people on pirate 4x4, here and other places have them angled as well.

Agreed, it is seen but not the best practice since it reduces the valving effectiveness.

Just like shops blast shit on with impacts but it's no where near the proper or best practice.

    from the second page

i have heard you say this before and it still makes no sence to me. the axle is rigid and will not twist from one side to another. when mounted, the axle does not move one side foreward and one side back under acceleration in relation to the shock mounts. the leaf springskeep the axle from moving for and aft under acceleration but do allow twist. this is the reason for mounting shocks for and aft the axle. i don't feel that the rotation of the differential or drive shaft torquehas any thing at all to do with shock placement. with your theory of one side moving foreward and one going back when the pinion is turned out vehicles would drive like skid steer loaders.

some imformation to help with shock mounting from Herb Adams book "Chassis Engineering": pg. 69

"Shock Mounting- Mounting the shocks on a rear leaf spring suspension requires special consideration. If one shock is placed in front of the axle, and one shock is placed behind the axle, their dampening effects do a good job of controlling the violent torsional rotation of the axle during power hop and brake hop. This configuration is so succesful that it eliminates most of these problems without any other devices. There is no prefered way of mounting the shocks, so either the left or right shock may be mounted behind the axle."

this pic was taken form "Chassis Engineering"also.

Yeah and after looking at it and everything else, being said, for them to be leaned back like what wes has, then yeah it address for the fact of when the axle moves forward and back, but from what i see, it doesn't look like it has much back movement, even then it won't unless fully tucked up in the fender.

I mean, when you're on rocks and everything else, does shock effectiveness really matter?

Also, i wasn't saying that the axle is moving forward or back, but i was saying side to side, but in reality it does the same amount of stress on the shock weather it bends side to side, or front to back.
