Weird. We pay less on my wifes F150 (2015 aluminum) than we paid on her 2013 Sonata for insurance.

This. If you want a luxury truck buy a luxury truck, but I don't know of any with heated seats and leather that are going to be much less than $40k. I don't give a shit about that crap so I love my Tacoma. If I could have gotten a locking diff without any of the tech included with the TRD OR package I would have. You might not be a truck guy. Just don't get a fucking dodge. GM seems to be pretty good with reliability, and if I was going to get a full size it would probably be a '16 Silverado. Although it would be hard to not buy a Tundra considering reliability.

I got like 3.15% from Toyota with pretty mediocre credit (like high 600s). So it depends. Try different banks/credit unions. You don't have to finance through the manufacturer.

the fact that dodge is willing to take $15k off the MSRP is a big indication of how badly they are trying to get rid of the truck. If it seems like they are giving it away its because they know you will be back to make up the difference with repairs. If you are only keeping it for a couple years go for it, if its a longer investment, try a couple other brands as well. Not trying to sway you either way you are an adult, just giving you info w/o the "I want a shiny new truck now" glasses. Good luck with your decision.

that's not how Toyota ext. warranty's work. the mileage is starts from the first in service date/mileage of the vehicle not when you buy the warranty. this policy only applies to new vehicle ext warranty's.

used car Toyota ext warranty's follow a different rule.

here is a direct quote from Toyota financial :

    Pretty much stock
I had a 2.7 F150 which i traded for the tacoma, I'll say i miss that truck everyday. The 2.7 is an amazing motor. my insurance went down 10 bucks per month when i went to the tacoma so you might want to shop around....however it was listed as a "performance vehicle" by the insurance rating. Got 10k off the sticker, you really have to shop around and the quality of dealers vary tremendously.

I'll supply my input as I came from a luxury vehicle as well. Loaded to the gills. I also had an old Z71 as a second vehicle that was about as base as you could get with the off road package. I loved the simplicity of the truck, you could just get in drop the column shift into gear and go (when the tranny wasn't falling out). I also really needed the finer things for my commute and road trips. After getting rid of both of those and stepping into the OR, I have to say it is a little taste of both worlds. I didn't do the Tech package (mixed feelings about that) yet I don't really miss those finer things like a sunroof and climate control, however this truck has everything else that my car had. It rides nice, the steering is tight, the power band is a little different but the torque is there when you need it, and I think the infotainment fits my needs perfectly and I consider myself to be a tech junkie. Did I mention the off road prowess of this truck makes that Z71 look like chump. I won't tell you how to spend your money (most Tacoma fans can do all that perfectly without much assistance from others) but I will say that I no doubt have zero regrets about my purchase.

To the OP, buy the Ram, it seems to suit you best and you appear to like it the most.

To the OP, buy the Ram or check out the F150. Dont listen to the fanboys that say they are both crap. Know plenty of individuals that own and havent had issues with either. I wouldnt even consider a Tundra if I was going full size either. Outdated and gets blown out of the water on nearly every aspect when compared to the the F150.

    The RAM ecodiesel is trash.

A diesel that's not from Japan, USA, Sweden, or Germany is SHIT.

The people you know who have them are fanboys.

    i was in your shoes.

don't get a Tacoma. unless there's a better, with more space, family vehicle. less than a month after getting my 15 Tacoma (DCOR), I was annoyed with the lack of space for me, my wife, and our boys (there was no room for the dogs, so that wasn't even in consideration).

I had decided that I'd trade it in towards an F150, after being turned off by the additional costs of diesel ownership (Dodge). Still, though...2 adults, 2 kids, 2 dogs...it'd be pushing it. unless i got a camper shell, but then why not just get an SUV and call it day.

Then a 2015 4Runner fell into my lap. I loved my Tacoma, and still miss it. But this 4Runner is perfect.

My BMW twin turbo diesel was in the shop on the monthly....thank god it was under warranty. Some of the repairs were over $3000.

Like I said earlier. Search Mopar ecodiesel on YouTube. The man has the highest mileage ecoshitiesel out there. The engine failed and is poorly designed. His mechanics are confirming the motor is a flawed turd. Yes, I do know better than actual owners. Because I do research and ask questions.

There are ignorant people who relate "diesel" and "RAM" and instantly think Cummins. So there's some owners who think it's a Cummins motor. The salesmen won't answer that question specifically unless you ask. If you play dumb or actually are stupid, they'll play along. That's sad.

Here's a rule of thumb I adhere to. Whatever car i'm interested in, I go find and drive one that's 2 years old. That tells you a lot about fit finish and overall quality.

You'd be surprised how not so well some american trucks hold up.

I looked around for 2 years to find the taco i wanted. When i did finally find it, i haggled for two days with them to sale it the way i wanted to buy it. It worked out to the good and i got an really awesome deal on my truck. But when i went, i was in a hurry, i wasnt overly excited or anxious, and i didnt let them know that i WANTED a vehicle. Buy what you want.

Lol how do power and heated seats ruin a truck? There will always be base model fleet trucks available but when people are spending 30-40k on a truck it shouldnt have the same interior options as the base model. I mean the TRD and Limited dont even have power seats lol, but you pay the price tag of a truck that should. Give it a year or 2 and a power driver seat will be standard as it should in 2016. I understand your argument if the truck was 20k but for the price tag it should have more than it does.
