May have just found a truck that is only about 6 hours away from me. They just called and said that it is on the lot, and they are going to work up a price for me now. It looks like I may be headed to GA this week. I can hardly hold back my excitement.

At Toyota West in Columbus they have a gentleman that has ordered my last two manual Tacomas (14 tx pro, 16 off road)...His name is Dean Mahalati and he's great to work with. People drive from all over the country to pick up loaded manual transmission Tacos from him.....you need to check him out.

West Columbas Ohio? I will check him out. I am willing to fly up and drive back for the right truck and a good deal. I just found out today that the truck I have on order is estimated for end of April.

2016 Manual Inferno DCSB TRD O/R
Just picked up my manual Inferno DCSB TRD O/R about 3 hours ago. I had to wait about 4 months but I was able to order this truck which isn't available in my region. (north east, NJ to be exact) Some of you who can't find or build the truck you want - enter in a zip code from another region when you build one on Toyota's website. As long as the truck is available somewhere you can order one. I googled Toyota sales regions then picked a zip code in a major city in those regions. I was able to build mine in the mountain region - Denver's zip code to be exact.

Wow, funny you said this, he's the one that landed me my Taco. It arrives this weekend/monday. He was GREAT so nice, no BS, and works his a@$ off. Seriously he's there 6 days a week and does what he says. I totally agree with you about Dean. He made my 4 month wait magically disappear, as I found my truck on his lot and now getting shipped to Texas !

This site showed me what was where: http://www.cargurus.com/ . And Yes, Dean was the salesman totally awesome!

Do you notice much difference in acceleration or any new lugging at low rpms? I'm trying to go with the same setup

I thought the same thing. It's more truck like than the tacoma. But it's still nowhere near the same as a 90's 1ton or commercial chassis manuals.

I just wanted to say thanks to the folks on this site! After reading this thread, I thought a manual would be the best choice. So glad I made the decision to wait..

And I got real lucky.. Someone canceled an order ; the truck was coming into AZ and it was a manual. My dealer saw it and we swooped it up.

    Only waited three weeks.

Did you lift the rear also? I've been eyeballing the kings. I have old myself I will wait for the OME BP51s but I am getting tired of waiting.

Yes, with the 285's you can notice a small decrease in acceleration. Before, this 3.5 almost burst into the power at the 4k rpm mark. Now with the weight and size of the tires the acceleration curve feels very smooth and lanier, a bit slower but you can notice it.

I have no lift on the rear.
