Looking for a new Exhuast to upgrade from stock. Want a good throaty sound, not a rice burner Exhuast. Looking to hear your guys' opinions, considering every thread I've tried to look at has been no help. Thanks!

YouTube will be your friend on this one. You will get a wide variety of recommendations, but it is all personal preference. My 07 has DTLT headers, factory y pipe, AT2525XL muffler with a down turned tip behind the tire. Sounds good at an idle, good but a bit of drone at cruise, and sounds like a pissed off weed eater at WOT.
Downfall of my Cooper tires being quieter than what I had before, I can hear the exhaust drone better. But that's what stereos are made for.

Do you want loud or slightly louder?

I can only give my opinion on one brand for the Tacoma and that is the Magnaflow cat back 15315. This was my first exhaust that I've ever installed on a Non V8 vehicle. The Magnaflow is a solid piece and easy to install. It's an 18" muffler I believe and it sounded decent. Kind of too loud for me and it made me feel like I sounded like a fart can Honda. I don't think it made me sound that way, I just felt that way.
I then installed a Vibrant Resonator onto the Magnaflow cat back and I love the exhaust now. No drone and it did tone it down some. It still has a nice sound when driving hard, yet it's quiet while rolling on the highway.

My wife never rode in my truck with just the Magnaflow cat back. She rode in it after I installed my resonator and she didn't even know I installed an exhaust.

Want a mellow tone. I'd say TRD exhaust or any brand muffler with a resonator added.

I installed a flowmaster 50 on mine a week ago and didn't like it at all. Low RPM's were OK but above 2.5k it was to ricey. I replaced it with a 22" Magnaflow this weekend and it is 100x better. It is slightly louder and deeper than stock.

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
Go to a Tacoma truck meet and see if you can hear an exhaust you like. Contrary to @windsor 's input I found Youtube to be completely worthless. The low notes produced by an exhaust that we all love are completely lost on shitty cell phone/gopro video you'll find on Youtube. Even Flowmaster videos are garbage and don't show the sound off properly.

I personally had a Flowmaster 40 and was never fully satisfied. For a long time I considered switching to a glasspack or a Super 10 but ended up settling on a Blackwidow Race Venom. It is gnarly loud and not for the faint of heart but it sounds real good to someone who is into it. Wish I could trust someone to drive my truck so I could properly hear it!

I will slightly disagree with Blackwidow's statement of "all tone, no drone." the Race Venom definitely has an in-cab presence that cannot be ignored without the radio on. But I have no problem hiding that sound if I keep it at or around 2k rpm. Stomping on it and this girl roars.

I would second the 22" for a muffler if your area of concerned is about drone. I am pleased with it. The shorter you go the loader and more likely to drone

I've had a Magnaflow clone on mine for a few years, and the drone at 65-75mph is horrendous. I found a stock pipe on craigslist for $50.00 I'm going back...

This..... there are only a select few V6's that have a good exhaust note.... the rest sound like absolute shit, our 1GR most definitely in that group of shit sounding V6's with exhaust.

Stay stock, you dont gain anything performance wise with a cat back.
