power window switch question

Hi All,
I purchased my first Tacoma back in November. 2014 SR5 DCSB.

My question is can the switches on the drivers door for the windows be swapped out from another toyota/lexus? The reason I ask is my father's in law 2007 lexus ES350 is sitting in my driveway while he is away. Looking at the switch panel and doing some quick measuring they seem the same size from the top. The lexus switches have auto up/down for all windows. Ebay has the switch unit for less than $100.

 

They pop on and off very easy. Shouldn't take any time to take them off and see if they fit.

lol his dad probably wouldn't notice if he swapped them out right?

 

I would be interested to know the answer though. Not sure if the auto feature is all done in the switch or also requires a certain type of window motor to function properly too?

 

Right, like I always thought my dad never knew I would cruise around in his S550 AMG when he and my mom went out of town.
OP, if you're taking it out, at least think of something funny to put in its place.

 

Well he told me I could use the car. Haha I just pulled both panels off. Although they look similar and almost fits the lexus part does not go into the tacoma slot. The wiring harness connection is different too.

 

So you were trusted with the Lexus and you choose to both violate that trust and not respect someone else's property.
