    the hurst/core shifter allows the ability to move the trans stick side to side by fastening it on either side of the housing. It was not intended to be used this way but it suited my needs for this application.

    I read the throttle stick posts... Not sure that would really be needed with the crawler - I actually spent most of the time in 2nd gear with the crawler engaged & hardly touched the clutch all day...

    Right, for the most part you won't need it. But I'm assuming you didn't get yourself in a position where you had to stop on a steep hill with an obstacle in front of you?

    No, but let's say you are in that situation and stalled. Throw the truck in 1st gear and compound low, push the clutch start cancel & turn the key. No clutch needed and you can throttle all you want. :cool:

    That's a valid idea for the situation, but if you're still running you'd have to shut off the engine for that maneuver. I still want my fifth stick! :D

    Not to hijack the thread or anything, but since all the right people are in here, does anyone have a stock FJ shifter laying around that they'd sell. My case didn't come with one.
