Fought me a bit but I'll call it done.

 

Did you have to relocate the stock shifter at all? That looks sweet and now I want one!

 

the hurst/core shifter allows the ability to move the trans stick side to side by fastening it on either side of the housing. It was not intended to be used this way but it suited my needs for this application.

 

I'll let you know when I get the fifth stick mod complete Craig. You can never have enough sticks.

 

I read the throttle stick posts... Not sure that would really be needed with the crawler - I actually spent most of the time in 2nd gear with the crawler engaged & hardly touched the clutch all day...

 

Right, for the most part you won't need it. But I'm assuming you didn't get yourself in a position where you had to stop on a steep hill with an obstacle in front of you?

 

No, but let's say you are in that situation and stalled. Throw the truck in 1st gear and compound low, push the clutch start cancel & turn the key. No clutch needed and you can throttle all you want.

That's a valid idea for the situation, but if you're still running you'd have to shut off the engine for that maneuver. I still want my fifth stick!

Thanks Mark - you're one of the few folks who knew what I had in mind from day one. Took a few years but it's finally there!

 

about time this thing is back in shape. You beat me to getting the shifter boots inside made LOL, i still use that area for a trash can on road trips it is hidden space #lazyinnovation

 

It certainly does look professional. Hands down.

Thx Jerry - I've got it down to a system now. Actually pretty easy to get it on solo. I appreciate the offer though!

 

Not to hijack the thread or anything, but since all the right people are in here, does anyone have a stock FJ shifter laying around that they'd sell. My case didn't come with one.

BTW is there an official crawlbox thread?
